Stalker?

The following days I saw this girl coming more and more often into our classroom to just hang around admiring "the hero" it seemed. I once tried to talk to her believing she came to talk to me. But she just passed right by me without a word. (Which kept me quiet too)

One day me and ____ were walking home he whispered to me; "I don't know what to do. She just keeps following me."
"I know. Because you're the hero." I said. It was becoming obvious to me what it was. But I couldn't understand why she didn't give up on it when seeing me. Or just simply talk to him directly instead. Or just at least talk to someone about it. She acted like he was at the top of the world, unreachable. If she only knew like I did.
"Hero? What does she want from me?"
"Isn't it obvious what she wants?"
"Huh? You mean she..." he stood there a bit dumbfounded.
I just nodded hoping he had come to the same conclusion.
"Can you make her understand somehow?"
"It's as hard for me as for you to fix this you know. Fine. I'll try."

"Hey."
"Hello?" She said as her eyes slowly drifted away, towards him.
"The thing is..."
"Yeah?" Still not looking at me while talking.
"uhm... if you really like him... don't follow him like a stalker and talk to him instead"
She looked at me with sharp eyes. "So. You like him too, right?"
"Huh? That's not my point." I wanted to hush her even though he clearly didn't pay attention to us at the moment. At least not from this long distance.
"I know. But you like him right?" I nodded.
"But if you talk to him, don't mention that!" I warned her.
"Relax. I'm not evil. You saved me too. I just kind of wish you weren't so close to him." She said unexpectedly straight forward. Why? How can she smile even after that?
But that suddenly changed as the girl looked down at her feet. "I guess I have lost already."
"What do you mean?"
"Well. He sent you to talk to me, didn't he?"
"Hmm... I guess you're right." I turned to look at him in wonder. Did that mean something special? Or did he just send me because I was more likely to understand her and talk to her correctly? Both?
When I turned back I realized she was gone far into the distance.

"I don't know what you said to her. But I see you managed to get her to stop following me."
"I guess sending me was a good choice after all. Not for her point of view though" I said and gave out a sight.
"Hmm. Well. Thank you anyway"
I felt relieved. Even though I know how hurt she must be. And he looked relieved too. It was clear to me that he didn't like her. I felt almost mean for being happy about that. And with that we both went home as usual.
