Jani giggled as she ran from Marie. They were playing tag. Something all six-year-olds do.
Marie caught up to Jani and tagged her, "Tag you're it!" she exclaimed.
Jani quickly turned around and chased after Marie, their parents watching and chatting. Jani suddenly tripped. That's when it happened. That's when her life went downhill. (A/N quite literally lmno)
Surprised, Jani gripped the grass, trying to keep her from rolling down the hill. Her hands started to burn. The grass caught fire. Jani stumbled back and rolled down the hill. The blue fire following her down. She heard her friend scream. The parents scream.
"NO!" Jani screamed, even her tinny six-year-old voice got picked up by the wind and traveled across the park. She scrambled back up the hill, tripping over herself several times. Once she reached the top of the hill, she called out Marie's name. No response. Tears filled Jani's eyes. No, no, no, no, no, no. She collapsed and looked at the charred grass. Blistered, mutilated bodies were laying on the ground. They were dead. All dead. This was her fault. What's wrong with her?
"I-I'm a-a monster," Jani muttered to her self. Sirens could be heard. They were getting louder and louder. She ran, as far away as she could. As fast as she could. Her legs burning, her lungs begging for oxygen. Jani finally stopped. She looked around, hoping that she would still be nearby her apartment complex. She wasn't. She was lost. Tears. So many tears. Police found her collapsed on the sidewalk, in a puddle of her tears.
They took her to police station but they couldn't get a word out of her. On Jani's third night there, she ran away. She was too dangerous. No one can trust her.
