Jani woke up to a blinding light shining down on her. An interrogation light at a police station. Officers were surrounding her, holding up tasers and other weapons.

"We know who and what you are Jani," an officer said.

She tried to breathe, but she couldn't. Air. She needed air. Trying to take in the nonexistent air, leaving her hacking and coughing. Screaming, clawing at her throat.  Unable to get air. Her vision got blurry. Darkness consuming her...

Okay, okay, I'm not that mean, she's not dying.

Jani shot up and touched her neck. She could breathe. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In... Out... In... Out... In... Out... In... Out... In... Out...  She curled into a tight ball. Rocking herself back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. She didn't notice that tears were leaking out of her eyes until Seth walked up to her and cupped her cheek, wiping a tear away with his thumb in the process.

"It's okay," he whispered. "It was just a bad dream. It's okay. You're safe."

Jani vigorously shook her head, knocking Seth's hand off her cheek. She hugged her legs closer to her chest and rested her head between her knees.

"You can talk to me, it's okay," Seth whispered.

Jani shook her head again, harder this time. (Writer's block activates (I promise I'm trying) <3) Shaking her whole body along with her head.

............. Time Skip (Bc I can (also bc idk wut i was doing with that, I just wanted to make you(you know who you are) mad with the sneak peek) I'm also the author) .......................

Jani was curled up in a tight ball, yes again, leaning against a tree by a small river. She wanted to jump in, and drown herself, but Seth was watching her like a hawk. If she so much as got a drop of water on her Seth would drag her away from the river.

"Why don't you show me everything you can do?" Seth sudgested.

"And why don't you go away?" Jani shot back.

"I just want to help you," he mumbled.

Jani let out a long sigh, she really hated getting into arguments with Seth. "Fine," she muttered.

She stood up, and poured a little concentration into her and Seth. They both hovered a few inches above the ground. He let out a small squeak. Jani couldn't help but smile. Seth looked up at her and glared. Just to have some fun, Jani put herself down and lifted Seth higher. His eyes widened in panick. Jani's smile grew, soon she was doubled over, laughing at how Seth was flailing around in the air.

"Nice to see you laughing," Seth muttered, after Jani let him down.

She covered her mouth with her hand, trying to stop laughing. "Alright, next," Jani managed between breaths. But she was trying so hard to block out his loud thoughts, she was getting little snipets of his thoughts. Cute... laugh... smart... annoying... stunning... hair... next...

She shook her head, trying to she his thoughts out of it.

"Just show me your favorite," he urged her.

She nodded. She flung her arms out in front of her, her fingers catching a blue fire. The fire crawled up her arms. She formed a small fire ball, it grew each second.

She lost control. Her eyes widened as sparks flew everywhere. Some lighting nearby trees on fire.

Jani and Seth shared a horrified look.

Jani just started a forest fire.
