Cheryl's POV

It felt wonderful to be asleep next to Harry again. His warmth and his soft snoring lulled me straight to sleep as it always did. But tonight, Darcy started crying, waking me up. Well I've been getting up assisting her so I decided that it should be Harry's turn. I groggily turned to face him, his arm still draped over me, and I peered up at him, "Harry."

I watched his eyes flutter open gazing down at me. I didn't have to tell him what was happening because he heard it, and with a sigh he said, "I'm on it."

I smiled to myself as I adjusted myself under the blankets. I snuggled my own body in the spot where Harry was sleeping because it was so warm. I thought I was going to fall back asleep, but somehow I couldn't, and I didn't know why. Maybe it was because Harry wasn't next to me with his never-ending, radiating heat, but then again that wouldn't make sense because I'd been sleeping without him for a while. I should be used to him not being here, but I guessed I wasn't.

After a while, I started becoming impatient. I had noticed that Darcy's crying had stopped, but Harry still hadn't returned to bed. So I finally decided to investigate. I sat up slowly with a yawn and stumbled to my feet, quickly slipping my feet into slippers and away from the freezing, wooden floor.

Next, I walked myself out of our bedroom and made my way into Darcy's. I pushed open the door and found the lamp on with Harry and Darcy sound asleep in the rocking chair. I chuckled to myself, mentally clicking the button on my camera of memory. This was going to be a great memory, but I couldn't just leave them there. So I gently picked her up and placed her back into her crib. After that, I shook Harry out of his slumber and he flinched.

I started laughing as quiet as I could, and I hurried myself out of Darcy's room before I had the chance to wake her. Harry smirked at me and walked after me, grumbling, "That's not funny."

I started giggling even more as I sat on the bed and he joined in, "Okay. I guess it is a little funny."

"You must be so exhausted from all the energy you used on me tonight," I teased and reajusted myself under the blankets as Harry did the same with a chuckle.

"Oh, how was it by the way?" He teased back in a small sarcastic tone as I rolled my eyes although he probably wasn't able to see them. "Because it was amazing for me."

"It was good, Harry." I replied as he snaked his arm around my waist again, letting me snuggle into the crook of his neck.

"Just good?" He sounded hurt as I giggled at him again.

"Fine. It was wonderful. It always is." I paused, kissing his cheek, "But I'm really sore."

"Aw, I'm sorry love," Harry apologized all sweetly, "I guess I got carried away."

I felt him peck my forehead and then heard him yawn, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Curly." I smiled to myself and reclosed my eyes. Now, I could finally go back to sleep.

Harry's POV

I was fast asleep in our bed, but something felt different and strange. I didn't feel as warm as I did with Cheryl next to me; which meant that she was gone. I opened my eyes to the vacant spot in the bed where she was supposed to be.

I tore myself from the bed, and the first place I checked was Darcy's room. Perhaps Darcy had started crying earlier, and Cheryl came in here.

So I pushed open the door and saw no Cheryl, but I found Darcy in her crib, wide awake. I strolled over to her and snatched her up, suddenly noticing a note taped onto the crib's wood.

The note read,

Morning baby!

I went out to the deli to get some donuts and some coffee from Starbuck's. Don't worry. I know how you like it. By the way, I thought it would be a great experience to have Darcy with you. Spend some father-daughter time with herI know she will eat it up!

Love,

Cheryl xx

I smiled down at the note as my worries vanished. Now I was fine, knowing where she had gone and such. And I was fine with Darcy being here alone with me. I knew how to take care of her. Besides, she adored me. She was the biggest daddy's girl I'd ever known.

"So Darcy," I smiled and put down the note, "How about some formula?"

She giggled up at me with her big, bright green eyes twinkling into mine. She was so cute with her squishy, chubby cheeks and her peach-fuzz of auburn brown hair. I loved her so much.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen with Darcy cradled in my arms. She was making those funny baby noises that made absolutely no sense at all, but it was adorable, and I couldn't help but laugh. She was so entertaining to listen to and watch, but she was also hungry; so I had to find where Cheryl kept the formula and bottle.

I went into the kitchen and started opening all the cabinets, one by one, searching for her food. I was praying that she wouldn't start crying like other babies do when they don't get their food, and it turned out that I really didn't need to pray about that. She didn't cry at all.

I grinned down at her and placed her bottle in her mouth as she stared up at me with her intense green eyes. It was like she was talking to me, but with her eyes. Sounds crazy, but it really did seem that way.

As she drank the formula down, her eyes would sometimes close for a long period of time and then open again to regaze up at me, and it was so cute.

Once she was all finished, I tossed the bottle into the sink and sat down on the sofa in front of the television, clicking it on with the remote. Now it was time for me to burp Darcy. So I also snatched a bib from the end table where Cheryl had one placed just in case she spit up.

This was a piece of cake, and I was enjoying every bit of it. This kind of thing was wonderful for me and Darcy, and I couldn't wait to show my skills off to Cheryl.

Responsibilities rule.
