Cheryl's POV
My eyes fluttered open to bright, emerald-green eyes staring deeply into mine and a smile that was accompanied by two of the cutest dimples I'd seen in a while. Harry looked so restless laying there next me, playing with the tips of my brown hair. It was adorable, and I didn't want to move, but we had to. The appointment was at eight AM, and it was already six forty-five.
"Good morning beautiful," Harry pecked my forehead with his soft, warm lips giving me instant chills that trickled down my spine.
I smiled up at him, "Morning."
"You ready to see our soon to be daughter?" He smirked, rubbing his hand on my cheek gently. I gave him a look.
"How do you know it's a girl?" I questioned him, furrowing my eyebrows in his direction. He chuckled lowly and shrugged.
"I guess I just have that feeling," He planted a kiss into my lips and sat up slowly, squinting into the morning sunlight that shone in through the blinds. "God, I'm exhausted," He said in a husky, raspy tone that I loved so much. I could just feel the steam burn me whenever he did that. It was absolutely hot.
"I know you are, but we have to get going." I said giving him a slight push to get up on his awkward-looking feet. He yawned, finally standing up as if he were a bear just getting out of winter's hibernation.
"Would you like some coffee?" He asked me, heading to the bedroom door. He turned in my direction waiting for me to answer.
I decided coffee would be nice—and I wasn't the only person who knew how to make good coffee. "That would be lovely."
-
After we had our coffee, we got ready for the day. I decided to wear Yoga pants and a navy-blue, plain t-shirt while Harry decided to wear grey sweats and a white t-shirt with some white converse.
We both didn't do much to our appearances; mostly because I was pregnant and lazy, and Harry was completely worn out. Therefore, it didn't take us that much time to get ready.
Once we were ready to leave, I snatched my purse up, and Harry grabbed his keys and phone. He lead me to his black Range Rover and opened the door for me, like the gentleman he always was. I used his muscular shoulder to help me into the tall car and crawled right into the passenger's seat. Harry soon joined me, starting the engine up and pulling out and away from the driveway.
-
Finally, we reached the hospital that we decided would be the birthplace of the baby, and Harry helped me out. Together—hand in hand—we waltzed into the main entrance of the hospital and went to the front counter. "Appointment for Styles," Harry said to the woman behind the counter. She nodded slightly and typed a few things into her computer.
"Room 407 with Dr. Newman," The woman smiled up at the two of us, pointing us down a vaccant hallway. He thanked her and led me to the room without having to use any elevators or stairs; which was just my luck because I hated elevators, and the stairs would not be good for the baby or my back for that matter.
"You ready?" I grinned up at Harry who seemed a bit nervous. He had told me before that he'd wanted a girl, and he looked a bit worried. Of course he would still love it if it was a boy, but he just really wanted a girl.
I watched him swallow and smile down at me, "Ready as I'll ever be."
So with that, we strolled right in. The room was dim with very little light, and there was the bed I was supposed to lay on along with the screen where we were to see our little bundle of joy for the very first time. I was starting to become a little nervous as well—this was where we'd find out if the baby was deformed or perfectly healthy.
"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Styles," The doctor, who surprisingly was a man, greeted with a welcoming smile. "If you will," He gestured me to lay on the bed. I nodded and obeyed, Harry letting my hand free from his only for a second.
Once I was situated on the bed, Harry re-glued his hand to mine, giving it a tight squeeze. "Now this is going to be very cold, just a warning because you are going to need it," Dr. Newman chuckled, lifting up my t-shirt as I heard my heartbeat in my ears. I took in a deep breath and exhaled, feeling the freezing gel squirm across my abdomen. I gazed up at Harry who had his eyebrows angled into an arch, just watching. His hand was starting to get sweaty, but I didn't care. It was nice to have him there by my side.
"So before I start, do you two want to know the sex?" The doctor grabbed the baby-detecting device in hand, ready to get started.
Harry and I both smiled, and at the same time said, "Yes."
The device was applied to my abdomen as mine and Harry's eyes examined the screen carefully, taking in all the details of my insides. All of a sudden I saw an arm, and gasped, "Oh my God."
"There it is." Dr. Newman beamed, still searching for a better view of the whole baby. I couldn't believe my own eyes. There was my baby. There was our baby.
"Wow." Harry studied the screen intensively as I glanced up at him, squeezing his hand. He looked a bit teary eyed to me, and I thought it was the most cutest thing ever. I was teary eyed as well, knowing that me and Harry were going to get through this together. I knew in my heart, even though he seemed like he was scared to death, I knew that he was ready for this. He was going to make a wonderful father, and husband too.
"There's the feet, and the arms," The doctor pointed on the screen to all of the limbs that appeared perfectly normal and healthily formed. I took a heavy sigh of relief and let tears of joy hit the brim of my eyes. Although I couldn't see the full features of the baby; it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in m entire life.
"What's the sex?" Harry questioned anxiously as I gazed up at him, noticing that his free set of fingers were crossed. He really desired that girl.
Dr. Newman laughed gleefully, "It's a baby girl."
Harry gasped in astonishment and covered his mouth with his hand, "Oh my God."
I giggled at him as the doctor printed the screen so that we could have a copy of our baby girl. Next, Dr. Newman cleaned off the jelly and tossed away the wipe into a nearby trash bin. "Here you go," He handed me the two copies of the baby with a smile.
I stood up and leaped into Harry's arms. We were both crying with joy, and now that I think about it is actually kind of embarrassing, but who could blame us? What couple didn't cry at these things? "You two have a nice day." Dr. Newman opened his office door as Harry let me down, wiping away his tears of joy. I did the same, and reattached my fingers to Harry's walking out of the dim office into bright florescent light, feeling like a new person.
"Cheryl. We're having a girl," He mentioned as if I didn't already know. I nodded and smirked through my wet cheeks.
"You were right." I replied in exchange for giggles from Harry. We walked toward his Range Rover and out of the hospital together, hand in hand, just like before, and Harry helped me back into the car.
Harry and I both felt more like parents after this day we shared together, and it felt amazing. It was different of course, but I was overjoyed to have him there to experience this—the ultrasound and all.
I have a baby girl, I repeatedly told myself in my head, with the love of my life.
