A/N: The events in this story aren't always in order of the episodes of the show because I add in a lot of my own scenes that aren't in the show. So, please bear with me:)
I wake up to the smell of fried ham and sleepily make my way into the kitchen. I see my dad plating a few pieces of ham on a plate along with a bowl of cereal. I smile at the effort and sit down in front of him.
"Morning! I know it's not much, but I haven't had a chance to go to the grocery store so-" he says
"It's fine dad." I cut him off reassuring him. He smiles at me and starts to clean up.
I finish eating and start getting ready for school. I brush my teeth and pull my hair back into a messy bun.
I throw on a white spaghetti strap crop top and a pair of ripped jeans. *photo in heading* I grab bag and keys and walk out. I see that my dad isn't home, so he must've headed to the dojo already. I jump in my car and head to school.
I pull into the student parking lot and see an open stall. I start to pull in before a black jeep comes swooping in, stealing the stall.
"Really asshole?!" I say to myself. A group of guys jumps out of the jeep and I jokingly consider running them over.
After finally finding parking I hop out and head to the office to grab my class schedule. When I walk in a lady greets me and tells me to wait while she grabs my schedule. I pull out my phone as I wait. A moment later I look up and see a boy, hunched over with puffy eyes walk past the office.
"Eli?" I whisper to myself. I start towards the door when the lady stops me.
"Wait dear, your schedule!" she says holding it out to me. I turn around and thank her. I run out of the office and in the direction I saw Eli going. I look around and don't see him anywhere.
"Damn it." I say. I sigh and look down at my schedule. I head to my first class hoping to see him at lunch.
I'm now headed to my next class when I see the assholes that took my parking spot knock some books out of someone's hands. I glare daggers at their heads and go over to the kid.
"Miguel?" I recognize the figure that's on the ground. He looks up at me.
"Cassie! Hey!" he says with a wide smile. I begin to help him gather his papers.
"Thanks." he says looking a bit embarrassed. I nod and ask him where he's headed. To my surprise, we were headed to the same class.
After a long, boring lecture, Miguel asks if I want to sit with him at lunch. I say yes, but tell him that I'm going to use the bathroom first. He offers to wait and I tell him to go ahead and find a spot to sit and that I'd catch up with him.
In reality, I was panicking because of the possibility of running into Eli or Demetri. Especially Eli considering he was my childhood crush and I left him without even saying goodbye. Would he hate me? What if he doesn't even remember me? I splash a handful of water on my face and dry it.
