Days had passed since the karaoke night. After watching Owen sing that song, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a girl in his life. He looked so passionate as he sang, he stared at me the whole time. I could tell he was nervous, he even mentioned to me that he hated karaoke, Paul and Dad had to convince him to come.

Owen, Charlie and Devin had all come over to hang out with us and get to know each other. I still hadn't spoken to the blonde about the torn page, but I had decided that he was probably more of a personal kind of writer. He just didn't want me to see, and I'd have to accept that.

I was on the patio, enjoying the last bits of September warmth as the cold air started creeping in. Huddled under my blankets, I sipped on coffee while I tried to come up with the writing. There was a knock at the door before Owen came out. "Hey," he smiled, looking down at my screen.

"Still working I see?"

"Can't think of anything," I shrugged, switching the screen over to something else. Owen fished around in his jacket pocket before turning his full body towards me. He held a crumpled piece of paper in hand.

"This is very personal, but I think you should write it based on this. That is if Max really does like the girl."

Owen passed me the note, his hands immediately finding their natural resting place inside his pockets.

How do I describe the girl I have feelings for? That's easy. She's funny without ever being too mean, she's effortlessly beautiful, no matter what she wears, she smiles and it knocks the breath out of my lungs. We hug and I can't find a good reason to let go. She has a beautiful mind, and I often find myself wishing I could be inside of it, experiencing the way she perceives life. I could easily fall in love with this girl. She's incredible, and no matter how hard I tried to walk away, no matter how hard I didn't want any of this to happen, it did. My advice? Tell her before it's too late. The pain you go through from seeing the girl you want the most going out with other guys is unmatched.

Her presence alone calms me. She lights up a room as soon as she walks in. Everyone loves her. She has this timeless beauty, I could never grow tired of looking at her. She touches me and I forget how to speak. I find new things to admire about her every day. That girl is beautiful to me. From her freckles and her hands and everything in between, she's a dime a dozen. So when you find that girl, don't ever let her go, I regret letting her go every single day.

So what do you say to someone who makes your heart swell? How do you tell her that she brings so much joy into your life? Well, let me know when you find out.

Cause I didn't.

I looked up at Owen after reading the paper. I blinked a few times, trying to find the words to say to him. I didn't think he would be so profound about it. "I have no words, Owen. This is really endearing." I folded the page neatly, tucking it into my notebook. "Where did that come from?" I questioned the blonde who stood in front of me.

He sat down in the chair across from me, smiling sadly. "It's just- um. It's about a girl who I really liked and she pretty much friend-zoned me without knowing. I never had the guts to tell her, even though I had the chance multiple times. We just ended up deciding we were friends. That's it, but all of that," he gestured to my notebook, "is what I wanted to say to her."

I reached forward again, placing my hand on his knee and rubbing with my thumb. "Owen, feelings like this don't just fade. She must be really special to you. If it's who I think it is, you should probably tell her."

He shook his head, looking down at my hand on him. "I might, once I grow the balls. It's complicated, who do you think it is?" He questioned, looking over at me with his eyes wide. I dropped my hand from my knee and leaned back.
