"Don't you think Theo has been spending too much time with that attention whore and no time with us?"The Slytherin common room darkly shined in green and silver under the Black Lake. The cast of the waters reflected in the room and bounced on the tile of it, the walls lit up by candles. Draco sat like an entitled prince on the green couch with his legs over Pansy's lap. Right now he was completing his homework while all Pansy did was complain and insult and complain about other students she didn't like. Blaise scoffed at her comments often, comparing his answers to Draco's in the process of it.
"It's because he bloody likes her," Draco responds with a bored yet irritated tone.
"Are you jealous, Parkinson?" Blaise inquiries.
"Merlin, no!" Pansy almost looks offended, "of her? Never in a million years. I just think–we should get back at her."
"Good luck with that," Blaise scoffs, "your plans usually backfire."
"This one won't!" Pansy shoots daggers at him then turns to her longtime crush, Draco Malfoy. "What do you think?"
"I don't care," Draco lazily replies, "I can't change your mind."
Draco's lack of interest in Pansy's idea somewhat pains her. She nonetheless covers her reaction as quickly as it came. But she knows.
On the other side of the common room, the girl of the hour sits across from Theo Nott. Both seem to be lost in thought, their heads in their books doing homework quietly. It seems to be a comfortable silence, Pansy notices. Theo lifts his head up for a quick second to sneak a glance towards Nia. Even from afar, Pansy notices the curl of his mouth before he quickly looks back down at his textbook. Pansy turns back to Draco then reverts her eyes to the fireplace.
Pansy knows Draco stares at Nia (hatefully) sometimes.

Nia awoke the next morning to find none of her roommates in the room. Her groggy eyes widened, convinced she woke up late. Nia stumbled out of bed, almost tripping in the process of it before she glanced at the clock on her bedside table–it was the same time she always woke up for classes. Another object caught the girl's attention–a velvet purple box on the table as well. The girl looked around the room; no one else seemed to have a box like this so she carefully opened it with her wand from a distance. Once the lid was off, a small card fell and lightly touched the floor. She picked up the paper, and in print it read: Hope you don't get detention today– Theo.
Nia grinned at his choice of words, almost as if she could hear him saying those words. Her brown eyes divert their attention to the contents of the box. She smiles. She almost wants to jump in delight like a crushing schoolgirl, but she remains composed. No boy has ever given Nia Knight a box of mini chocolate frogs and other magical candy assortments.
