After hearing the announcement of Ravenclaws first victory on the pitch there was nothing else that Elizabeth was able to think of. She forgot about all else, all sadness, all anger, all stress, and she was just filled with head-to-toe joy.
In a blur, she went from screaming on the pitch to crying in the locker room with Dorcas. Red hot tears streamed down her cold face, but she was too overwhelmed with joy and relief that she could barely even recognize them.
The Ravenclaw Quidditch team decided to walk in together, make an appearance as a unified group to excite even more joy out of their peers. Upon their entrance, as Cassidy later told Elizabeth that night, the real party started.
The Ravenclaw common room was more alive that night than it ever was before. The globe that normally laid at rest in the center of the room was turned into a big disco ball that now hung from the ceiling. The tables and chairs that normally lay scattered throughout the floor were now pushed against the walls or placed in the backroom by the staircases leaving more room for everyone to pile into the center. A muggle-born named Nick had set up a table in the corner filled with an arrangement of different sorts of alcoholic beverages both wizard and muggle alike. Even the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw was ready to party, decked out in Ravenclaw attire with a blue and bronze beanie and scarf. Some people even went as far as placing an oversized quidditch jersey onto her torso.
Elizabeth didn't think that she has ever seen the, normally very neat and organized, common room in such a lighthearted mess. It was pure organized chaos. People were screaming and dancing, yet nothing was at risk of getting destroyed.
She took her time entering the room, observing all that was occurring around her. Her teammates had different ideas as she watched Dorcas and Erika immediately immerse themselves into the fun. Finally excited to put some of the new charms they had been working on to use, the two girls began to place banners and even more creative and outrageous decor around the common room.
Randy gave Elizabeth a quick pat on the back and a smirk before strutting off to his own corner of the room where girls followed him. Rather than watch a bunch of her friends swoon over him, Elizabeth turned her attention to Jeremy and Skye who walked away together with a purpose, heading straight towards a table filled with a few Hufflepuffs who were known to be very good with a specific plant in the school gardens.
Sighing with relief she turned to face the final member of her team who had yet to walk into the crowd, "feeling ok Andre?"
"Yea, just thinking," upsoken words ran between the two players that caused them to walk over to the side, taking seats beside each other, backs against the wall, looking out into the bustling crowd in front of them both.
"About what?" Andre was normally a quiet guy, kept to himself about things for the most part so Elizabeth took every chance she could to bond with him without pushing him too far.
"James Potter." Her heart skipped a beat with his words, but she was sure it was just with surprise, nothing else.
"Oh?" she suddenly felt a bit thirsty, but kept her cool, "why is that?"
"I saw the way he looks at you Lizzy, it's not a secret. The man is clearly into you."
She felt a blush rise onto her cheeks and was thankful that Andre continued to look into the crowd instead of at her, "I, I don't know what you want me to say to that."
