James' heart skipped a beat when he saw her sitting at the table in the Care of Magical Creatures Classroom. Maybe having to get a tutor is not the worst thing that could've happened. She looked so gorgeously peaceful sitting at that table, her mind immersed in a book he wished he knew the name of. James was never a big reader, but he would read all the books in the world if she asked him too.

It was clear that she was not told who, exactly, she was to be tutoring. This much could be guessed based on her reaction to seeing James.

"Not you." were the first words she spoke to him so far. The tone was sharp and quick, yet somehow James still found himself loving every word she spoke to him.

"Yes, me." was the only thing he could think of saying, adding a smirk to his already cocky tone.

After seeing him she began to gather her things from the table "Oh I am not tutoring you, you can fail for all I care."

This would not do for James. "No, please,"  his voice was laced with desperation for two reasons. One, very obvious one, being that he wanted to spend time with Elizabeth. This was his perfect chance to get to know her further and to show her that maybe he was worth getting to know too. The other reason being the one he spoke aloud to her, "McGonagall said if I don't get my grade up I can't play quidditch." She met his gaze, "Please, you know how much quidditch means to me and you're the top of the class."

James stood there for a moment, allowing Elizabeth's eyes to practically looking into his soul. Genuine worry filled his eyes and she could tell. Placing her stuff back down on the table with a sigh she motioned for him to sit beside her.

Overwhelmed with joy, he did exactly as she asked and wasted no time getting himself situated in the seat next to her. Displaying all his notes and books out in front of them and attempting to inconspicuously move his chair closer to hers. Elizabeth noticed this attempt quite easily, for James was not being as stealthy as he thought he was, and quickly moved her chair to the opposite side of the table so she could be facing him.

"Remember, I am only doing this so I can see the look on your face when Ravenclaw beats you guys in the upcoming games," Elizabeth added, opening up her notes to the page she had planned to go over that day.

"Whatever you say, Rosier." James smiled at her before returning his focus to the book in front of him. Elizabeth was grateful for this because if he had held his gaze on her face for a second longer he would've noticed a blush creep onto her cheeks and a big smile settle on her face, despite her efforts to keep both hidden.

The two spent the rest of the afternoon studying and making plans for their future study sessions. They created timetables to work around each other's schedules. They were both very busy and unfortunately, this meant some lunches had to be spent together. This idea thrilled James and, although she would never admit it out loud, Elizabeth too.

Days flew by and study sessions became more light-hearted. Inside jokes were created and their seats just happened to get closer and closer to one another as the days went on.

James was in pure bliss. He looked forward to seeing her every day and was unable to keep a smile off his face whenever they were together. She wasn't straying away from him and he was grateful. He was surprised to have actually been learning and understanding what she was saying when every time their legs touched or their hands happened to brush over one another, he could do nothing to help himself from zooming in and focusing on that feeling of contact between him and the girl he cared about so deeply.
