Elizabeth has spent all day confused. She thought about James. What he had said. What Remus had said about him. Elizabeth thought about their time together. Their conversations, his laugh, his hair, his... everything.
Cassidy and Dorcas noticed something was off, reading Elizabeth's body language is a skill that the two had perfected years ago. The two were asking her what was wrong, but she brushed them off and continued to pretend like everything was fine. Pretend like there weren't 100 different scenarios running through her head at that moment, followed by 1000 different questions that she had no answers for.
She felt Cassidy's eyes on her throughout dinner. She was waiting for her to slip up. For her face to, just for a moment, replicate the feelings that she held inside. Elizabeth tried so hard to stop this from happening, but the moment she locked eyes with his across the great hall, she could feel her face fall. In that moment Elizabeth wanted nothing more than to talk to him, but she didn't know what she would even say.
Elizabeth was soon snapped out of the trance she had unknowingly entered just moments before and turned to talk to Jeremy. He began to talk to her about Merlin-knows what, whatever it was though, Elizabeth hoped that it wasn't too important because she did not register a word that came out of his mouth.

Dinner was short, but it felt like ages. As soon as Elizabeth got back to her dorm all she wanted to do was take a nice long nap in her own bed.
Unfortunately, her roommates had a different plan in mind. As soon as Elizabeth heard the door shut behind her the voice of Cassidy McFarlan began. "Ok stop with the bullshit and tell us whats happening."
Elizabeth, who was only inches away from her bed, reluctantly turned around to face the two girls. One stood with her arms across her chest, back straight, her face twisted into the determined look that Elizabeth was used to seeing her wear when studying. The other's hands were swaying at her sides, her stance was casual, but her eyes were apprehensive. Ying and Yang, Elizabeth sometimes liked to call the two in her head. So different, yet somehow they made a great team, especially when it came to getting stuff out of their third Musketeer.
"It's James." Elizabeth said, too tired to try to even hide it. The thoughts that had been clouding her head for weeks needed a way out, and who better to talk to than her best friends?
"I knew it!" Cassidy announced triumphantly. Her cocky attitude was short-lived though when Elizabeth backed up and sat on the edge of her bed.
"Oh hunny," Dorcas soothed her, walking over to take a seat beside her. "What happened."
Tears threatened to spill from Elizabeth's face, not necessarily from sadness, but just from the overwhelming amount of confusion and emotion, she couldn't stop herself from feeling no matter how hard she tried to push it all down. Cassidy took a seat on the opposite side of her friend as Elizabeth began to tell them everything.
Once all was said and done Elizabeth spoke up, "what do you think I should do?" She turned her head to face Dorcas, she preferred to hear the optimistic view first and knew that Dorcas could provide that.
Her friend looked at her solomly saying, "Well, my opinion is biased," Elizabeth sent her a confused look, "cause I am also in love with a Gryffindor."
Ohhh, Marlene, Elizabeth thought before makign a knowing nod, indicating Dorcas to continue. "Plus James listens to Queen," Dorcas spoke with a smile, "and you know I'm a sucker for people with good music taste." The lightness of Dorcas' words put Elizabeth to ease. "Freddy Supremacy!" Dorcas cheered softly, nudging her friend in hopes of cheering up everyone's mood.
