James, Sirius, and Peter all stood under the invisibility cloak. They had just left their dorm room to go pick up Moony from the infirmary so he wouldn't miss lunch. James was scared to go into the infirmary, knowing fully well that there was someone there who really didn't want to see him. He wasn't sure why Elizabeth was so upset with him and the idea was eating him alive.
The group went anyway, their sole mission to rescue Moony so you can guess their surprise when they opened the door and were met with a fully-dressed Moony and Elizabeth standing next to each other about to leave the infirmary. (To be honest, rescuing someone from the infirmary was an easy task. One that did not require the invisibility cloak, but the cloak added a sense of mystery and adventure that the marauders loved.)
The three Gryffindor boys are stopped dead in their tracks when they open the door to be met with both Moony and Elizabeth. She looks so pretty. James thought, even though she was wearing a normal school uniform. If anything she looked like a mess after being on bed rest for so long, but James had missed seeing her face so much that no matter what she looked like in that moment, he would've found her beautiful.
He watched as her face scrunched up in confusion, he had forgotten that he was under the cloak and therefore he couldn't see her. He turned to face his two other partners-in-crime to silently ask what they should do, but he soon found out that they were looking at him with the same confusion. James heard Remus chuckle lowly before announcing, "okay men, reveal thyselves."
Before James could even think for a moment, Sirius threw the cloak off the group of them and stood straight up with a mischievous smile ever-present on his lips. "What art thou doing out of bed Sir Moony?" Sirius spoke, keeping up whatever gimmick Remus had begun.
"I was rescuing thy quaint Princess Elizabeth from the grips of the ghastly dragon Pomfrey." Remus replied.
James could barely pay attention to what his friends were saying, his gaze remained fixed on Elizabeth's. Her eyes seemed to be purposefully avoiding him, he wished that he knew why. He only began to pay attention to the conversation when she first spoke, adding onto whatever knock-off Shakespearian play the three were now performing. "Oh you men must mad to hath partaken in such painful adventures for my sake! A testy escapade that only zany men would dare embark upon with hopes of such absolute outcomes."
Peter now bowed in front of Elizabeth, his hand extending towards her as he spoke "'Twas a painful adventure, but for thou we hath o'er wrought any obstacle."
Elizabeth blushed at these words that made no sense to James. He felt a spark of jealousy arise in his stomach that soon became a raging flame as the woman he loved took his friend's hand in her own before bringing it up to her mouth and giving it a light kiss. Peter stumbled back from this encounter, a blushing mess, causing Elizabeth only to giggle at his response. "Thou art cunning young men," she spoke once more, addressing all his friends, but still not him. "I am forever at thou honest mercy. Thou art deserving of anything thou may wish upon from my kingdom from henceforth."
"Why thank you, m'lady," Remus spoke once more, "whenever thou art in coil do not hesitate to call upon us, your dutiful saviors from the land of the Gryffindor Common Room." Remus bowed before her, and with him followed Sirius and Peter.
