after a night of sightseeing hong kong's city life and reminiscing on the memories of her, renjun, and his family visiting the city once in a while for a vacation, eunbyeol felt refreshed as she woke up the following day.
time seemed to have gone by fast. each team was busy rehearsing and preparing for the upcoming song mission that they'd perform that evening. but due to weather conditions, the storm prevented them from being able to showcase their songs.
eunbyeol was sitting on the floor of the room they were using to rehearse, sipping from a water bottle since they were taking a break. things were going well for them — well, until a staff member from the production team entered the room and told them about how they'll be flying back to seoul to go through with the mission.
"we've barely been here for two days," frowned coogie, plopping down next to the girl.
"i know.. i was really looking forward to performing here.." she sighed.
woorim approached them and stuffed his hands into the pockets of his pants, shrugging. "i guess it can't be helped."
"are you trying to be cool or something?" superbee butted in, laughing and cheering up his team members despite the ongoing situation.
the hong kong trip was cut short and almost a week delayed the day of the song mission. at the cj e&m studio, the groups successfully ran through their rehearsals, and the first team that was set to perform was the quiett and changmo's.
so backstage, eunbyeol was standing beside superbee, patiently waiting for their cue to go on stage and listening to the producers talk amongst themselves.
"our students," the quiett started. "prepared something really fun."
"did he just call us 'students'?" eunbyeol mumbled to herself, catching the attention of her teammates.
"students, please come up."
more conversation was made between everyone before the music was cued and the female's performing persona came out.

the song closed out, having left the producers and spectating teams in awe.
"can we get a replay?" joked nucksal.
"xiao and d.ark are unreal!"
"monster rappers. it was like they were both possessed or something."
everyone laughed at swings's comment and agreed nonetheless. eunbyeol glanced at woorim and he held a hand up, receiving a high five from the girl.
the producers continued to give feedback and compliment the performance, mentioning the reactions and their thoughts. however, the mood quickly changed from light-hearted to tense within a matter of seconds.
the elimination of a team member had to happen, and since the four were confident that they did their best, there was no telling in who would be dismissed.
with a palpitating heart, eunbyeol bit the inside of her cheek and, like the boys beside her, turned her gaze downward to the stage below. she stood between woorim and superbee as they waited in anticipation.
"the eliminated person from team the quiett and changmo is.." the ceo started. "d.ark."
eunbyeol let out a breath of relief but her heart was still as heavy as it was prior to the announcement. woorim, eliminated?
they hadn't known each other that long but he acted like a little brother to her (even if he did flirt with her often and admitted to having a slight crush on her). they grew close quickly due to them being closest in age with skills almost on the same level.
a sad yet grateful smile was on the boy's face as he was brought into a hug by coogie. eunbyeol was the second to embrace him. he may be younger but he was definitely taller, so her arms wrapped around his torso and his around her shoulders.
"you better win for us, okay?" he softly told her in mandarin, making her hands clench around his jacket.
she looked up at him with a smile — one that was close to the smile only renjun knows — but before she could verbally respond, superbee joined the hug.
i'll do my best, eunbyeol promised.
