———"HEY, DO YOU LIKE ME?" Lui asked. His back laid against the white, textured wall as he glanced up at the ocean-blue sky, arms folded and relaxed.
We were meeting out again in the back end of the building, it was the same place where we met yesterday. The sun was shining from the front so the back was frosty, cool, and colored with plenty of shade. Before us was a big, empty concrete space.
Shu was still unsure of what to do with it, so he went on to leave the plain area alone. Now, it became a common spot for the bladers to come hangout with friends after practice, sometimes dropping by during lunch to get some privacy.
"L-Like you?!" I squeak, blood rushing to my cheeks. My fingers were grasping at whatever against the solid wall.
'I...yes, I do like him. Lui is very sweet to me and polite with my mom—and to his brother—I'm not sure if I could ask for any more in a...partner.'
"Mhm."
'But...'
"Well...um..." I trail of, picking at the slightest cracks behind me that were in between the bricks. "I'm not su-sure how to answer that—"
"Just letting you know," Lui interrupted my stuttering mess with a tone sharp as a knife. He lightly closed his eyes, the back of his head still touching the wall as he laid there, arms crossed. "If you ever want to confess or somethin', I won't reject you."
"T-Then..." I mumble with an inhale, bringing both of my hands close up to my chest. "then y-you con-confess!"
...
"No."
"Why n-not?"
"Because I said so."
"Meanie." I huffed to myself, crossing my arms and turning to the side. Lui did a little "hah?", pushing himself off the wall.
"Meanie? I—what?"
"You do like me..." I gazed to the side, twiddling with my fingers as I stole a guilty glimpse at his faint flustered expression. "...right?"
"Of course I do!" He retorted. "Not just because you're my soulmate, but...but just you yourself in general as a person!"
"Then you confess!"
"Fine!"
