"HEY Y/N." Shu flashed her a polite smile. It was break time. Y/N was filing out the result of her latest prototype in her little work station when the male with pearly white locks knocked on the door. "Do you mind if you do me a favor?"

"O-Of course not." The E/C eyed girl smiled in return, turning her charcoal chair to face him. "What is it?"

       "Can I...see your left arm?"

       Her body tensed.

"I-If I may ask," Y/N's hands gradually dropped from the keyboard of the desk, settling down on the chair and underneath her thighs. "why?"

       "Nothing special."

       "Sorry, n-no."

"...alright." Shu nodded. He didn't want to force her into saying something she wasn't ready to admit. "I'll be going then."

"See you later." Y/N waved, small smile appearing on her cherry face. Her body's muscles loosened up and her pounding heart rate began to decrease little by little. Footsteps were headed towards the exit and her head craned back down to the computer screen she sat in front of, continuing to design the blueprint of a recent inspiration she found on a TV show.

       ...

"Y/N." The male took a pause at the door, hand curved and grasped tightly on the handle. Her fragile heart skipped a beat.

       "Y-Yes?" She replied trembly.

"I..." he turned his body back around, facing her with a weary smile. Part of him wanted to say never mind and just leave it at that, but his other half couldn't bear leaving without stating his words. "you do know that I'll always be here for you, correct?"

"Yes!" She nodded. "O-Of course...you're one of my dearest friends."

The stab that struck Shu's heart could've ended his life right there and then.

       Friends.

Right, he needs to remember that.

"Okay then, at least you know." Shu spun around to face the door again, opening it softly and with almost little to no sound at all. Once he was out the doors, his mouth opened once more. "Just...take care of that wrist. Lui has a mean grip."

The creaking of the door was the only sound heard as it shut, the inside locks clicking in place once it was fully closed.
