"WELCOME BA—" Shu greeted. His voice trailed off though when he spotted Lui saying a goodbye to Y/N from outside the glass doors. It was the day after their date, so what was he still doing here? Y/N smiled happily, sending a silent wave before gently closing the door. The time was about 5:21 AM. The bladers were still resting in their dorms.
"Ah—" she bit her bottom lip, forcing in a scream. When Y/N turned to go to her workplace, she did not expect to see Shu—as he was usually in his office this early in the morning. "Morning, Shu. I didn't expect to see you here..."
"How did your date go?" He asked, shrugging off her flustered expression.
"Great!" She smiled, clasping her hands together in front of her chest. "We did so many things—like skating! But turns out he's a beginner, so I had fun teaching him...and watching him fall on the ice—but we're not going to get into that. After, we got hot chocolate to warm ourselves while looking at the Christmas lights around the square."
"Sounds like a blast." Shu smiled. It was genuine, it had to be. Breaking the two apart for his own selfish needs didn't appeal a bit to him.
Trust is a valuable thing, and he wasn't looking to lose that.
"Mhm!" Y/N giggled, unzipping her puffy coat, furling it up into her arms vertically like yarn. "I'll see you later then. I'll be in my room if you need me."
He nodded, footsteps ready to retreat back to his office when a soft voice interrupted.
"Oh, and um..." she mumbled. Shu stopped in his tracks. "T-Thank you Shu. I really appreciated the day you let me have."
He spun around.
A fluttering feeling ignited like fireworks in his chest.
The ruby eyed owner loved to see her happy. Every look that she sends his way made his day. The gleam shining in her dazzling E/C orbs. The adorable upturns on the corners of her mouth as her strawberry glossed lips spread into a smile...
Getting over...can take some time.
