Chapter 7

The next morning I wake up and Peeta isn't there. I jolt up. Where is he? I listen carefully... Nothing. "Peeta?" I let out. "PEETA!" I scream. Where is he?! I start panicking. What the hell is going on. I throw on my robe and run down the stairs. "PEETA!" I let out again. No answer. I run outside. He isn't there. God damn it! Where is he!?! My mind is stirring with all the possible things that could've happened to him. I run over to his house. I burst through the door. "PEETA!?!" I shout out. I wait for a response. Nothing. This is ridiculous. I can't loose him. He is my everything. I run back out of his house and into Haymitch's house. I run through the door. Haymitch is holding Peeta down on the floor. "Mutt." I hear Peeta mumble. "Shut up Peeta!" Haymitch says. "What happened?" I ask. "I heard him scream 'Mutt' from your house. I ran over as fast as I could. He had restrained himself as much as he could. He was about to attack you until I grabbed him and brought him here. He is almost done with this fit." Haymitch tells me. I look into Peeta's eyes. I see the wild animal in him. I try to look at him soothingly. I see his eyes grow calm. Finally he says "Katniss? Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" he asks me worried. "No, you basically hurt yourself so you wouldn't hurt me. Haymith rescued me from you." he comes over to me and hugs me. "I am so sorry love." "Can I talk to Haymitch for a second?" I ask him, he nods and leaves the house. "Haymitch, I don't know how long I can take this anymore. I just want my boy with the bread back." I say, almost sobbing. "We will sweetheart. The army is working on it. Soon enough he will be back with you. Do not worry." I nod and hug him. I leave his house and jump into Peeta's arms. I kiss him, a long passionate kiss. The one that I love the most.

When we get back to my house I tell him "We should start making a guest list." he looks at me happily and nods. We go inside my house and sit on the living room floor with a notepad and paper. We start the list. Haymitch, Effie, Mom, Flavius, Venia, Octavia, Finnick, Annie, Finnick Jr, Johanna, Delia, Beetee... "Who else?" Peeta asks. "Gale..." I say quietly. "After all we have been through with him, you still want him to come to our wedding?" Peeta asks me. "Of course, he is my best friend Peeta." Peeta glances at me. "Okay, if we have too." "Yes we do!" I say. I start writing down his name. "That's thirteen people so far. Can you think of anyone else?" I ask him. "No, those thirteen people sound perfect." he says. He leans in and kisses me. I wrap my arms around his neck, kissing him more. "We should make the invitations, that's your job." I say some what out of breath. "Why me?" he asks "Cause you decorate the cakes in the store." I tell him and then wink. I get up and start walking to the bedroom. I grab some paper and come back down the stairs and give it to him. He makes the most beautiful cards ever. He puts names on each of them and the addresses on the envelops. I look through them to see if they are all there. I start walking to the mailbox. I take out a note from my pocket that I had written a couple of hours ago. It's for Gale. I slip it into his envelop and seal it again. I put them in the mailbox and start walk back. I smile at what the note said. 'Will you give me away? -Katniss'

Everyone responds really fast. I am so happy everyone can make it. The only person that hasn't responded was Gale. Our wedding was in a week. Flavious, Octavia and Venia have found the actual wedding dress that Cinna had wanted me to wear. It suits me really well. It has a sweetheart neckline with pearls lining it. The dress goes tight until my waist and then makes me look like a princess. All lace but somewhat puffy. But not to puffy, Cinna knows me to well. I put it on. "You look amazing darling!" Octavia says. I smile back at all my stylists and then give each of them a hug. I take it off and but on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. I walk down the stairs and I hear a knock at the door. I open it "Hey Catnip." Gale says. "Gale!" I run into his arms and hug him. "Whoa, I thought you hated me." he says. "I did for a while, but you're my best friend. I could never stay mad at you." "Thanks Catnip." "Would you like to come in?" I ask "Is Peeta in there?" "No he is at his house designing the cake, I am not allowed to see it." I say. He comes in and takes a seat. "Do you want something to drink?" I ask. "Just a glass of water thanks." I go get him a glass of water. I come back and sit beside him. "So will you give me away?" I ask him "Of course I will Katniss. What kind of question is that?" he says with a laugh. I laugh at him. "Thank you." I say. He puts his arms around me and gives me a squeeze. "We should go hunting!" he says. "Now?" "Yes, get your bow! Let's go!" I run upstairs to get changed into my hunting gear. I come down and say "I am going to go tell Peeta what we are doing." I run over to Peeta's place and knock. The door swings open. "Hey, I am just going to go hunting with Gale for a bit." "Oh, Uhmm, okay. Just be back soon I want to show you something." I give him a kiss and then run off into the woods.

Gale and I run out into the woods. We both have a bow and arrow an we start hunting right away. So far we have shot down 3 squirrels 4 rabbits and a few birds. We keep hunting when we come across a deer. I get my arrow ready. The deer looks at me and I release me arrow and kill it! "Yes!" I scream. Gale comes running towards me. "What happened? Are you okay?" He asks. "Of course! I just shot a deer down!" I tell him. "Nice hit Catnip!" he says giving me a hug. He goes to get it and puts it with the rest of the animals. We hunt for a little while longer and then decide to take a break and eat some strawberries. "I miss this." Gale says. "Yeah, I do to." I reply back to him. "Do you still love me?" He asks "Of course Gale, I have always loved you." I tell him. "But not like you like Peeta.." he trails off. "You know I love, but like a brother. Peeta is just the one for me." "I know, I understand that now. I still and always will love you Catnip." I look into his eyes. I see the boy that I first met that thought I said Catnip was my name. The one who is always there to protect me no matter what. "I will always love you too Gale." I smile at him and he smiles back. We go back to the house and have some tea. We talk a little bit more and then Peeta comes barging through the front door. "Where have you been!?!" He shouts. "Gale and I just got back thirty minutes ago, calm down." I say. Peeta comes and gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Please tell me when you come back, okay?" I nod. "Gale do you have any place to stay for the week?" "No actually I don't." "Peeta, can Gale stay at your house for the week?" I ask him.

"What?" Gale says. "What?" Peeta says. "Fine, Gale can stay in my spare room then. Peeta usually is at my house most of the time anyways." "Alright that sounds good." Of course, Gale says. Peeta looks at me like I am crazy. "Katniss.." he says as he pulls me away. "Are you sure you are going to be okay? I mean remember what happened last time the two of you were alone." "But we won't be alone because you are going to be with us the whole time." I smile up at him and wink. "Peeta, I am in love with you. No one else. I am always going to love you no matter what. Okay?" I tell him. "Alright, I love you too." he says and the gives me a peck on the lips. We walk back to Gale and tell him to bring his stuff to my house and I will put them in the guest bedroom. He brings them in and I put them in his room. His bag is awfully heavy. I put it down. Curious to know what is inside it, I bend down and open it. I gasp to what is in his suitcase. A gun and a knife. Why the hell does he have those here? Can't him and Peeta make a truce already? Just as I think that I hear a loud crash from downstairs. I run down the stairs to see what happen. Oh no...
