Another year passed, and Dal-Mi would finally introduce Tarzan. The self-driving car Cheong Myung company had developed. And Ji Pyeong also got promoted to Sandbox's Director. But Dal-Mi and Ji- Pyeong didn't talk about their relationship again.
Ji Pyeong was at his table when he heard Dong-Chun talking about Dal-Mi on the phone.
"Please be professional! You meet Ms. Seo for business reasons. And besides, Dal Mi likes a guy with big hands...Hello! Hello!" Dong Chun said. He looked at his phone, and the caller —already— hung up.
Ji Pyeong couldn't help himself to eavesdrop on his conversation.
"What was that?" He asked Dong-Chun.
"You know Cheong Myung is applying for a temporary permit for their self-driving car. They need a certificate of insurance for that. So, I introduced her to a friend that knows about this matter. But ..." Dong Chun said. But he didn't finish his words as Ji Pyeong immediately left the room when he heard about Dal-Mi.
He was on his way to see Dal Mi when his phone rang. He canceled the call even without looking at it. Finally, he saw Dal Mi and Dong Chun's friend; standing in front of the elevator. The guy was talking to Dal-Mi, but he could see she was a bit irritated with him. When Ji Pyeong got— a little closer, he finally understood why Dal Mi was acting that way.
"I love songpyeon! Can I have...." he said. But before he could finish, Ji Pyeong dragged him into the elevator, "I'll make you some at your place. I love making songpyeon(half-moon-shaped rice cake)!" he said.
Ji Pyeong looked at Dal Mi. Her smile was enough for him to know she was thankful.
When the elevator close, Ji Pyeong faced Dong-Chun's friend, he was intimidated by Ji Pyeong's large physique.
Then Ji Pyeong got his hand.
"What are you doing?" the guy asked when Ji Pyeong suddenly compared his hand to his.
"Look at that! You have a small hand...How cute!"
The guy got scared of him, "Actually, I don't like songpyeon," he said.
Ji Pyeong smiled as he saw the guy hurriedly leave the elevator as soon as it opened. Then he pressed his floor number. He smiled. He looked proud and happy looking at his hands.
When the elevator opened, Ji Pyeong was delighted to see Dal Mi standing outside and waiting for him.
"He doesn't like the songpyeon I make!" he relayed.
Dal-Mi smiled as she entered the elevator.
"Why don't you come over— if you're free today?" she said.
"Huh? What?"
Ji-Pyeong was startled to hear her invite him. Because Dal-Mi didn't usually invite him over— for these past three years— however, Won-Deok often did. And Dal-Mi was just the messenger of her grandmother.
Dal-Mi faced him, "I mean, you always come during Chuseok and eat all the food, but you don't help. Don't you feel bad? Come over and help us. How can you always eat everything and never lift a finger!" she commands in a friendly manner.
"I am sorry, but I prefer to lift my toes!" he replied. They laugh discreetly.
Ji Pyeong accompanied Dal-Mi to her office, and then his phone rang. "Aren't you going to answer that?" Dal Mi asked. Without knowing who the caller was, Ji Pyeong canceled the call.
"Whoever it is, I am sure that person will call again, especially if it's urgent!" he said.
"Okay!... See you later!" she said and went inside her office.
Ji Pyeong was happily headed back to his office when he remembered the call he did cancel. He got his phone from his pocket and saw a message from Min Ah.
—I guess you're busy. Call me when you're free—
While he walked, Ji Pyeong immediately dialed her number, "Min Ah, why?" he asked. Ji Pyeong and Min Ah have been close since they met— again— one year ago.
"I'M BACK!" she said excitedly.
"What? When? Why you didn't tell me?" he said, and he was as excited as her.
"Relax! I just came back last week. I didn't tell you because I wanted to surprise you. SURPRISE!"
"We should meet sometime then," he excitedly said while standing in front of his office.
"Can we meet tonight? I will see our other college friends later, too!" she said.
Ji Pyeong paused from entering his office.
"Sorry! I can't! I already have plans with Dal Mi tonight," he said.
"Ah...I see..." she said.
Ji Pyeong could hear Min-Ah was disappointed. He didn't like hearing Min Ah's disappointed voice, especially if he was the cause of it. He instantly thought of an alternative.
"But we can meet tomorrow night! Is that okay with you?"
"Tomorrow? Sure!" she answered, her voice changed from disappointed to excited.
" See you then," he said and hung up. He then entered his office with a smile on his face.
