"Hm?"

She hummed curiously when she heard a song sang by someone. The soothing voice managed to catch her attention. She piqued from behind the tree.

There stood a graceful lady. Her hand twisted the dry lilies while she hummed along. So much of a miracle, the lilies that was once dry, became a healthy lilies.

She gazed at her yellow eyes. They were very serene, beautiful, and shiny. Last but not least, they were...

Peaceful.

A yelp escaped from her when she was pushed by a squirrel.

The lady took a notice. She smiled at the sight of the girl. She fiddled with her fingers and looked away. Heat crept her face.

"I-I apologize! I-it was an accident! I don't have any means to disturb you like this! I-I was just p-passing by!"

She ranted. Y/n wasn't the lovely one as everyone knew her. She was a bashful girl when she didn't know about the Xia Xing.

The lady smiled softly filled with so much love. She walked to the girl. "Hmm? A new borned God?" The lady questioned the h/c.

'She knew! She must be a Goddess as well!'

"M-my name is Y/n."

"Hello, Y/n. My name is Gui Zhong."

Her mouth was agape opened. Her smaller figure quickly dropped down. "L-lady Gui Zhong! It's an honor to meet you!"

Gui Zhong let out a soft smile. "Please, Y/n. Stand up."

Y/n stood up. She bit her lower lips, trying her best not to burst into tears. But it was all a fail attempt.

Gui Zhong still managed to keep a peaceful and calm smile. Her eyes were still soft as ever. "Would you like to come with me?"

****

"Sorry for the late visit."

She put down the glazing lilies. The letter that carved on the stone, written the beloved lady's name.

The breeze of the wind blew her hair, sending strands covering her face. Her f/c hanfu landed on the ground, across the grave.

She took the hio¹ and turned turned on the tips with the fire. She spreaded her elbow. She placed it where her heart was placed.

Hoping that her message would reach her, she closed her eyes. The wind blew her hair, revealing her facial features. It was a silence from her.

Y/n's heartbeats slowed down. Instead of the usual paced heartbeat, it slowed down instead.

She opened her eyes and placed the hio by the center. The smoke flew around the air.

"If you're worried about Morax, he's fine. I haven't visited you ever since that arson."

She smiled softly but sadly. Her eyes were filled with nothing but pain and agony. She wanted to scream and let out all the words she wanted to say.

But she could not bring herself to do it. She couldn't speak. Her voice was stuck inside her throat. It was very clear she wanted to call out her names lots of times.

It was very clear she wanted to beg to her. But what could she do? She was just a small God. Not even one of the Seven Archons.

The wind that blew became harsher by the second her tears were about to drop. She managed to keep a smile within those despair.

The smile Gui Zhong had taught her. How close was Gui Zhong to Y/n? Close like a mother-daughter relationship.

She bit her lips. The warm embrace that used to spreaded opened for her, now was nothing but dust. Morning didn't feel like a 'good morning' anymore.
