8- Ming Si

The sun had settled down hours ago, replaced with the big and full moon. The stars oddly shone down accompanying the lonely big moon. The crowds from below filled in the lonely air.

Even fireworks from afar, she still could hear. The woman who seemed to be around fifties, sat on the entrance of her garden in her castle. She let the breeze blew her face. At this time, she would started to think, will all this stay forever?

Her village was wealthy and rich in culture. It had stood for more than hundreds of years. But she wondered, will it stand another hundreds of years? Not the fact she couldn't let go, but the fact that the laughs will die down.

Her ears rang as soon as she heard clanking heels made it's noises. The usual odd feelings she felt when he was nearby.

They felt the butterflies arose and flew around their stomach, the giddy and happy feelings when he saw her. And the satisfication when she called his name.

She knew what's this. And yet, she knew she can't accept it.

The h/c didn't call out his name, but his honorifics.

"General, what brings you here?"

Y/n giggled softly and pat the floor next to her, signing him to sit down. He took the hint and walked towarded her. "You said you wouldn't serve me even if I'm the ruler of this village."

"That was hundreds years ago. I'd noticed the wrongs in Qiu Lv. I'm here to serve you to clear my sins," he declared. That's right, he was Ming Si.

"I've taken you from him, is that even okay?" She asked softly. Though, the crowds cheered, but they didn't. "...That's okay. I asked you to in the first place."

His voice was filled with some hesitation, but his face didn't falter. He still managed to keep a straight face. "Lady Y/n, may I ask you a question?"

Y/n hummed as a response and looked back to the moon. "Why did you choose to age yourself? You're beautiful and you're immortal. So why?"

"So I'm not beautiful?"

"T-that's not it!"

She chuckled when she was satisfied with his reactions. Even if Ming Si looked cold and harsh, he's still a soft person. "Immortals don't age, their beauty won't fall. That's the problem. Humans tend to believe that their beauty appearance will stay forever."

"But that was false. Like the pear if you leave it behind, it'll rot. So to fix that, I aged myself so they can finally understand and let go, accepting it as part of life. Our beauty won't fall, Ming Si. But theirs can. The one that stays inside their heart is their childhood dream, but not the beauitful appearance you have."

Ming Si and Y/n were titled as a 'Lover Under the Moon', though, it was one-sided. Y/n didn't feel the same way as he did. "Ming Si, I love you, but not in that way. I love you equally as my people. If I accept your feelings, I don't know what will happen in the future."

"Then don't think about the future, My Lady. Think about the present."

"If only it was that easy. Look, Ming Si." His black eyes gazed at her, filled with determination. "You're my Adeptus and was Qiu Lv's. But our feelings can't waver easily like that. I hope you understand."

The lanterns started to lit up the sky in celebration. Cheers started to filled the tensed between them. "I love you Ming Si, but I can't accept your feelings."

Even though, people would feel the heartbroken, he wasn't. He tried his best to understand that they weren't meant be. Ming Si could only forced a smile and looked back to the moon. Y/n could feel the waver of sadness and how his heart dropped. Her chest felt heavy even thought it was felt by another person.
