𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌. a finger came out of nowhere and plunged into the side of the cake, ruining the beautiful, smooth layers of peach buttercream that covered it.
the frosting then made its way into someone's mouth.
"mmm!!"
this is so tasty, rosé sighed dreamily as she licked frosting off her index finger.
"rosé!!!??"
"what are you doing?!!" a sigh. "whatever, let's just blow the candles," jisoo said, stifling a laugh at rosé's guilty expression and turning her attention back to the four lit candles.
"WAIT!" lisa suddenly shouted, startling the puffed-cheeked girls beside her.
"we have to sing a song first!"
".. happy.. birthday, to.. us.?" lisa sang, a bit shyly.
"to us," the others cheered, and the four of them blew out the candles in unison.
they cut the cake into four.
"oh my gosh, jisoo, this is delicious!!" rosé gushed. lisa and jennie nodded furiously.
the cake was decorated with sliced peaches and flowers of whipped cream. it seemed jisoo had spent quite a while in the kitchen while the others explored the house.
"yeah, um, i may have gotten a bit carried away," she chuckled.
"for good reason, though. it's really really good," jennie repeated. "bake more," she urged, nudging jisoo's arm lightly as a tease. jisoo smiled.
jennie was glad that jisoo could use this to get her mind off other matters.
"where did you even get the ingredients, chu?"
"i actually found peaches in the fridge, surprisingly. and some flour and sugar in the cabinets while i was looking around the kitchen," jisoo replied, crescent eyes looking at ease for the first time in a while.
the others nodded and scraped up the remains of the cake, eager for the shot of euphoria that each bite of the dessert gave.
this place, the between, was surely weird. but the girls were used to it. odd things appeared every once in a while.
speaking of odd random things, a p-
bark bark!!
a puppy!! made its way into the kitchen and nuzzled around their legs.
lisa looked, bewildered, at the fluffy white ball of fur, whose vanilla-dusted floppy ears and adorable face were already cupped in jisoo's hands.
it was weird how things worked out.
