𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐗𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍. creak.
creak.
amongst the silence, a yellow dress pillowed in the soft wind that blew nowhere.
jisoo's hands gripped the metal of the swing, and her legs pushed her forward, then back. forward, then back.
it smelled of burnt plastic and metal, but... again, it always smelled like this. she had found an odd comfort in the intoxicating scent.
she had gotten used to this.
her eyes drew shapes in the empty cavern that was the sky, trying to fill the void of emptiness similar to what she felt inside.
after all, she was trapped here. they were trapped here.
she was snapped out of her thoughts by an unfamiliar voice. it echoed through the enclosure, sweet and slightly scratched, like a broken record.
"um.. hello?" the voice grew closer, and its shoes tapped the floor, following shortly behind.
jisoo turned, purple highlights falling in place behind her shoulder.
it's a new girl, she noticed.
the new girl scurried over to the area below where jisoo was sitting on her swing.
"hi! i'm lisa!! nice to meet you," the girl smiled brightly.
too brightly, regarding the circumstances they were in.
jisoo stared for a moment.
she doesn't know where she is. who we are. why she's here.
and then she nodded, hopping off her swing, onto the hood of a worn out, painted-over car, then again onto the ground.
she slowly dusted off her bright dress as lisa stood there in place, smile still etched faintly on her features.
finally, the older girl in the dress smiled back.
"i'm jisoo."
lisa could have been tricked by her charming heart-shaped smile and kind features. but she could tell.
the smile didn't quite reach her eyes. her eyes, underneath purple eyeshadow and simple eyeliner, told a sorrowful story that took place somewhere unreachable.
it broke something within lisa, who had only realized she was crying when a tear fell shakily down her cheek.
embarrassed, she blinked the moisture away from her eyes and looked down at her feet, stomach churning.
"follow me." jisoo's velvety voice came again. lisa glanced up to see that jisoo had already begun walking.
she watched the back of the beautiful girl gracefully leading her forward, and wondered what kind of place this could possibly be.
