It was almost Blue's birthday, but instead of getting gifts, he wanted to give them. So he'd set to thinking about what each of them would want.
He'd seen Nightmare in the garden many times, so he traveled to a few different universes where monsters had been set free and gathered some of the prettiest flowers he could find, digging their roots up to so Nightmare could plant them. He gave them to Nightmare alone, so he wouldn't be embarrassed. That earned him about a week's worth of kisses in under five minutes.
He bought both Killer and Cross big boxes of chocolates, making them promise not to take each others' boxes. That was probably the most they'd ever tolerated each other.
For Horror, he bought a giant teddy and stashed it in his room. He smiled to himself as Horror went upstairs to go to bed that night and flinched a minute later when he heard a loud, high-pitched squeal. Horror came running back out with the teddy in his arms. "Guys look!"
"Oh, so it's you." Dust laughed.
About a week later, Blue walked by Horror's room and saw him gnawing on the bear's arm as he slept. "Well, I guess that's one way to use it."
For Dust, it was more of a prank then a gift. He snuck into his room, knowing he would be deep asleep, and covered his face with sparkling stickers. When he came down the stairs the next morning, everyone laughed. It took him a few minutes to figure out why, but when he did, Blue was the first to be blamed, and therefore tackled.
He gave Fell a hug. He was still nervous around him, but he was getting better.
He dyed a bandana of his dark purple and sewed Razz's name into the front. Razz gave him a peck on the cheek.
Finally, Error. Blue cracked his knuckles and began to see.
"Hey Error?"
"Ye@h?"
"I...I tried to make a frog..." Blue held out his mangled creation. The 'frog' was purple, with one green eye and one blue one, and stumpy limbs.
Error stared at it and then, slowly, gently...he hugged it. He hugged it tight and then he hugged Blue.
