You fucked up big time.

Dabi finally realizes that you've frozen up next to him and he frowns. "You okay?" He asks but you don't answer, instead stepping back from him and avoiding looking at him entirely. "I- I have to go." You mutter and rush past him, slipping through the mass of people as he calls after you, "Where are you going?"

You push through the crowd and make it to the entrance where you rush out into the large green corridor and all but sprint back to the staircase where the back door to the bar is, the entire time going through some of the other lyrics to the song in your head.

Cuz you are the piece of me I wish I didn't need.

Chasing relentlessly, still fight and I don't know why.

No no no no no.

There's no way.

There's no fucking way.

What in the shitty wattpad fanfiction is going on here?

You can't believe you thought of him.

There's no way.

You take the stairs two at a time, yank open the door and dash through the corridor until you make it to the crumbling bar where you stop to catch your breath, your hands gripping the edge of the bar counter so hard you feel them start to heat up as your quirk accidentally activates.

It's not long before the back door opens and closes and you look up to see Dabi emerging from the hall. "What the fuck was that?" He asks, breathless, and you roughly push yourself up from the bar counter and rake your fingers through your hair. "What the hell are we doing, Dabi?" You hate how tight your voice sounds but you force the words out regardless. "What is this?"

The look on his face tells you he knows exactly what you're talking about and he sighs through his nose as his eyes shut briefly. When he opens them again, his expression is intense. Dangerous. "We're making a mistake," He says, his voice low. "And this," He gestures between the two of you weakly. "Means nothing."

Those two words feel like he's driving a knife right through your heart and you take a step towards him. "Dabi-"

"Go home, Solar." He growls, his face contorting into a scowl. "I shouldn't have brought you here."

"So... what," You sound more hurt than you would have liked. "We're gonna just ignore everything that's happened tonight?"

"Yes." Comes his sharp hiss. "That's exactly what we're gonna fucking do." He looks you right in the eyes, his gaze cold and deadly.

"I..." You're at a loss of words as you fight to think straight. "I thought-"

"You thought what, Solar?" He's not yelling, but the pure venom behind every word takes you by surprise and you're frozen in place as he walks towards you. "That we have some sort of connection? That you've started to feel something for me?" You lean back as he continues approaching you, the edge of the bar counter digging into your spine as he traps you between himself and the counter and says, "That I would ever feel the same way about you?"

The two of you are nose to nose and you're honestly too shocked to do anything except stare up at him. This is the first time since you met that you've felt anything resembling fear around him. In his eyes you see no amusement, no mischief, no small hints of warmth like they usually do when you're together.

That beautiful turquoise color which you've come to love is now the color of ice and as you stand there, rooted to the spot, you realize that those are the eyes of a killer.
