That same day you report to work with Hawks, but your head's not in the game.
You end up getting yelled at by Endeavor in his office after coming back from your mission and while it was somewhat justified since you let personal reasons get in the way of your performance and jeopardize the entire mission, Endeavor's face is the absolute last thing you wanna be seeing right now.
"What the hell was that, Solar?" He says, him, you and Hawks standing in his office together as he chews you out. "You almost let him go. We've been after him for weeks. You almost blew this entire operation!"
You give a little shrug. "Sorry I can't live up to your ridiculous expectations, Enji."
Beside you, Hawks audibly gasps at you calling your boss by his first name and you stare down Endeavor in front of you. His eyes look so much like Touya's, but way more foreboding and he obviously expects you to break eye contact first but you hold your gaze until he scowls. "That's it. You're off missions for insubordination until further notice."
"Good!" You snap. "I don't want to spend my time around you anyways you big fat nasty fuckin smelly walking pile of burning fossil fuels global warming causing ass bitch."
His eyes widen when you finish and Hawks slaps a hand over his mouth and nose as he looks between you and Endeavor, absolutely scandalized. Endeavor just stares at you with his mouth agape, clearly not used to be called the cause of global warming.
One second. You take one second to revel in his reaction before shouldering your backpack. "Consider this my letter of resignation." You snap, flipping him off with both fingers as you walk backwards out the door. You slam it behind you and take off sprinting down the hall, Endeavor's enraged cry of your name shaking the entire building.
You end up making it back to your apartment all the while avoiding Hawks who no doubt chased after you, and you toss your backpack onto the floor before sauntering over to the kitchen to grab a redbull.
Wow, that felt great.
Sure, you were unemployed now, but he would soon be as well with what Touya has planned. Of course, you don't know what the plan is... but you trust him. You have to.
The thought of Touya dampens your little victory dance and you look over to the flower on your table, the memory of this morning coming over you and making you lean against the kitchen counter to steady yourself.
Who were you trying to fool?
You're not okay.
You're most definitely not okay.
As you realize that you're trying to numb the pain via redbull, you cringe and the sound of your phone ringing grabs your attention.
Keigo.
You ignore him and put your phone on silent as you chug yet another can of redbull which leaves you with the feeling like you can throw hands with All For One alone and win. On the kitchen table your phone lights up with incoming messages and you roll your eyes at Keigo's 13 missed calls and open his texts with the intention to leave him on read.
