The son of a bitch took you on a date, let you hold his hand and drag his flat ass to the dance floor, and made sure to have a drink ready for you after you came back from the dance floor and he now has the audacity to say it all meant nothing to him.

Men.

Men are trash.

Eventually you drag yourself to the couch and pass out, calling in sick when you wake up first thing in the morning. After a well balanced breakfast of ice cream, you set an alarm for exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds in which you have another cry session and when it goes off you wipe your eyes, blow your nose and move on.

Now that you have called off the deal, there was the risk of Dabi going public with the fact that you conspired against Endeavor, or even worse: he might say that you had orchestrated the entire thing. You probably shouldn't have let him go last night and at least brought him in either dead or alive, but it's too late for that now.

You feel like an absolute mess and you don't know how to deal with all these emotions raging inside of you so you do the only logical thing you can think of: watch Disney movies all day until your brain rots.

At least... that was the plan.

Halfway through Tangled you become disgusted at how cute Rapunzel and Flynn are together so you switch it to Princess and The Frog but Prince Naveen reminds you too much of Dabi for some unexplainable reason and you switch it over to UP but you start getting emotional so you end up just turning off the tv and jumping between the same 3 apps on your phone until it gets dark.

Despite your better judgement you decide to reread the messages from Dabi on his various different burner phones and after you go through two of his different numbers, you've decided you had enough and are about to put down your phone when something catches your eye. A couple numbers down reads attachment: 1 image and you click on the conversation and pull up the pictures you had sent him of the shrine from dinner at the Todoroki house.

You zoom in on the picture of little Touya Todoroki, that sense of vague recognition still gnawing at you as you stare hard at him.

Who is this kid?

A sudden thought makes your blood run cold.

His eyes.

They look like...

You shoot up into a sitting position, gripping your phone in a death grip as it finally clicks.

He has the same look in his eyes Dabi did last night and they're the exact same color.

Wait a damn minute.

His eyes.

You're heart's pounding as you frantically open up your laptop and search up a picture of Endeavor and once you do you immediately zoom into his face and almost lose your shit.

Dabi and Endeavor have the same color eyes, as does the boy in the picture...

Your hand comes up to cover your mouth as your brain starts working overtime. You know Endeavor's capable of blue flames because of what you saw in Hosu, and Dabi's flames are blue and the two of them have the same eye color. Touya Todoroki ran away from the hospital he was being treated at, which could have to do with Dabi's scars...

There's no way this is all a coincidence.

How did you not notice the similarities before?

The only logical explanation to any of this is that Dabi is Touya Todoroki.

Your head's spinning and you sit at the edge of your bed, the music from your playlist sounding far away as if in a dream. What do you do now? Do you confront him about it before he has a chance to go public? He's probably switched phones already so the only way you're gonna be able to see him again is if he contacts you first, which is highly unlikely.

This is too much for you right now so you plop back down for a nap and are awakened what seems like moments later by your phone ringing. It's Hawks calling to check up on you and you greedily accept his offer to bring you your favorite food but insist on him leaving it at the door. Only when you're absolutely sure he's gone, you open the door and snatch up the bag and run back to your kitchen like some kind of gremlin to sit down and eat.

Your initial excitement upon getting your food disappears like a thief in the night as soon as your brain deems it appropriate to think about how Dabi is Touya Todoroki. While you're very well aware that your meal tastes immaculate, it's bland and flavorless in your mouth and after a few bites you can't stomach any more and you throw it in the fridge for later.

This has been enough sleuthing for one day and you're about to call it a night and continue your brainstorming on what to do about Dabi tomorrow, when you hear a weak knock at your door followed by a muffled, "Solar."

You stand there, heart rate spiking and briefly rooted to the spot before leaping across your apartment and looking through the peephole of the door only to see a mess of inky black hair you'd recognize anywhere.

"How the hell did you find out where I live?" You call through the door and watch Dabi's shoulders sag at the sound of your voice. He leans heavily against the doorframe. "Let me in." He says instead of answering your question and you scoff. "As if. Crawling back to me when you need something is low even for you. You know what I told you would happen the next time I saw you."

"Solar." The way he almost whispers your hero name catches you off guard and you watch him carefully. He's not moving at all, just leaning against the doorframe with his head down and you struggle with unlocking the door, dread easing it's way into your chest as you open it.

On the other side of the door Dabi looks up at you and you see a brief flicker of relief flash in his dull, unfocused eyes before he says, "I... I had nowhere else to go." He takes a step towards you but his legs give out and you catch him as he falls against you, the weight of his body almost knocking you to the floor.

Shit.
