It was a week after Valentine's Day, and Y/N had yet to ask Dream, her childhood crush out.

Well, it was more like she had yet to have a chance to ask Dream out. He was a bit of a ladies man, much less to her liking.

He was always swarmed by women and men alike for a chance of love during Valentine's Day. In all her years of knowing him, Dream had not had a free Valentine's Day in literally years.

Being his bodyguard, she would know. She always had a free day on Valentine's day due to Dream not wanting to have her murder anyone.

She was always known as the shadow behind Dream. One of the few women who stood taller than him. Clad in black armor, a sword was always resting at her side. For who would she be if not one hell of a bodyguard?

Plus, Dream was the heir to a high-regarded kingdom. The Youtube Kingdom. He had come from a village where he had found out his royal lineage, and appeared out of nowhere, taking over the Kingdom with ease.

Y/N was by his side the entire time, fending off enemies and assassins alike. Dream and her were the best of friends, but only that. Nothing more.

He found other friends before coming to the Youtube Kingdom. Sapnap and George were two of his closest friends, and while it took a bit for Y/N to warm up to them, they too became her friends.

Sapnap being closer to her than George, since they both had one thing in common; crushing on someone who never seemed to take a hint. Sapnap with this scruffy scientist and rambunctious butcher, Karl and Quackity. Luckily, this Valentine's he had gone on a date with Quackity and established a relationship with Karl. The three of them had met up, finally.

Though the same could not be said for Y/N, since Dream was constantly with George for some reason. Even more so during recent times. When she inquired Dream about it, Dream just waved it off and said that he was training George.

It was probably just her imagination, even if Dream was in a relationship with George, Y/N would be the first to be told of it, besides from Sapnap. (As sad as that is.)

Y/N, instead of focusing her skill in love, focused her skills in swordsmanship further. She could beat Dream in a fight easily, though for some reason many people thought Dream was the better fighter out of the two.

The reason that Dream needed a bodyguard in the first place was because he was of royal lineage, and back then Dream couldn't hold a sword correctly for his life. While Y/N had been trained from birth to hold a sword and fight, for her family was notorious for the work of body guarding.

So it was actually Y/N who taught Dream the way of the sword in his early years, teaching him how to protect himself in the case that Y/N would die. The only rule of Y/N's family, is that to always have a backup plan. You never know what might go wrong.

There was really no reason to practice her swordsmanship, but she wanted to be prepared for the Manhunt event coming up. It was hosted by Dream, he had proposed the idea to King Algor and Queen Ithm, a fighting tournament to find knights.

A king always needs knights, and Dream only wanted the best beside him. Sapnap was going to be a Hunter in this tournament, and he was elated for being chosen to be that role.

This tournament was a special one, testing not only the fighting skills of the contestants but also their survival and stealth skills. Dream wanted his knights to be feared by all, he wanted to be a force to be reckoned with.
