You woke up early, knowing today was an important day. For a few weeks now you've been planning what to do on the 18th of January, Malleus' birthday. He told you the date faster than you expected so preparations went smoothly.

It was around 7 am when you left your room, already fully dressed. In your room, near your bed, was a box, the one you asked Lilia to give you. Smiling, you took the box in your hands and began running through the castle's corridors. You stopped in front of a big wooden door, with a gargoyle craved on it. When there were no servants around to scold you for 'waking his majesty up' you opened the door and ran inside the room. It was total darkness there, you couldn't see a thing. Thankfully, your hands reached the curtains quickly, letting the sun shine on the man's face. He groaned as he tried to bury his face in the pillows.
"Happy Birthday Malleus!" You said, and that made him stand up immediately. He started at you, speechless.
"My...birthday ?" He asked, surprised. It wasn't that he forgot his own birthday or anything, he was usually invited to the party closer to midnight than...so early in the morning.
You nodded with excitment.
"I asked Lilia to give me some normal clothes for you, they are in this box!" You said, handing the object to him. The man still seemed to be in some kind of shock as he has almost no reaction to anything.
"And you also need to hide your horns..."
Your words only made him more confused.
"For what reason must i do that ?"
You looked away.
"It's a surprise..." you muttered before heading towards the door.
"After you are done, get to the main entrance!" And with those words you left. He opened the box and saw the clothes in it, those were things he has never wore before: a black hoodie with a green model of some sort and a pair of blue jeans. He took the hoodie out and started at him, before breaking out in laughter. He kind of figured out your plan.

After he was dressed up, be did as you asked and headed towards the main entrance, you were already there.
You've never seen Malleus in a normal attire before, he has never seen himself in one either, but unlike you he couldn't exactly see himself. After finally realizing that the person before you was indeed him, you nodded and grabbed his hand.

There were very little guards around the palace, that didn't happen to often. When you saw that the path was clear, you ran towards the main gate. You were clearly not fast enough. The man smiled as he saw your attempt, it was mostly just walking for him, but it was fun.

After the two of you were finally outside, you looked at Malleus once again, perhaps it wasn't only the clothes that made him look peculiar, but his missing horns. He could now pass as a human.

You dragged him to the centre of the town, which was rather lively for such an early hour, not exactly what he liked, but he went along with it. You stopped in front of a small, colored store, it had 'Icecream' written on it.
"Now that i think about it, it is truly too warm for the middle of January." He stated, about to follow you inside, however, you stopped him and asked him to wait for you at one of the tables. He couldn't exactly say he felt rejected, you said it in a very determined manner, making him unable to refuse.

After a few minutes you were finally back, carrying a cup with 4 different types of icecream and two spoons in it. You put it on the table and sighed in relief since you didn't know how much longer you could hold it. A smile made it's way on your face when you saw how Malleus' eyes light up at the sight of the dessert. It was weird to eat it first thing in the morning, that was true, but he didn't complain, the weather asked for it.

It came as quite a surprise when he took one of the spoons and, right before taking a bite from the frozen dessert, he looked at you and asked if you didn't want to it. You wanted to say no, you really did, but you were still a child. He pushed the bowl closer to you since you couldn't reach it.

It didn't take too long for the two of you to eat it, the shop was known for heaving great icecream after all. Your trip was not done just yet though.

When he was about to head back to the castle, you grabbed his wrist, stopping him.
"There is a special exposition a little further from here." You said, you did your research after all.
"If you planned to take me there as well, we shall continue our trip." He answered, turning around and following you.

It did take a while, but when you finally arrived at the destination, you smiled with pride.
There were what seemed like the ruins of a very old tower, perhaps someone used it to perform some magic as the ruins and the rest of the building looked completely different. It's true that both were made of stone and had a somewhat antique air to them, but there was an obvious difference between the way the materials were used.
"What is this exposition about ?" He finally asked, but you refused to tell him. He had no other choice but to enter. Unlike the town, that place was almost empty.
It was much bigger inside than how it looked in the outside and the exposition was about...
"Gargoyles..." he thought out loud. The shock in his voice was clear, and you felt very proud of it. "But how...?" He asked.
"I'm just lucky!" You replied cheerfully and walked besides him between the stoned figures. He stopped each time to admire them and tell you a few things.
"However, i overheard Shroud say something about...the revival of gargoyles." He said at one point, and you remembered Lilia telling you about a movie with that.
"It seems to be pretty common in movies..."
He sighed.
"That just destroys their reputation..."
You couldn't help but smile,he had such a great love for the strange creatures and considered them so underrated, it made him look less like the 'terrifying Malleus Draconia' everyone was afraid of.

When you finally got out of the museum, he looked up and noticed the sun being in the centre of the sky. The two of you spend a while there, it was about time you headed home. You had no complains, you did all the things you wanted to do with him in that day.

Right before entering the castle, he stopped and looked at you.
"Thank you." He smiled kindly as he said those words, he then opened the door.
Sebek ran towards him, he seemed truly relived.
"Young Master, i thought you dissapeared!" He said, before looking at you, perhaps he was about to scold you, but Lilia stopped him.
"Now,now. We shan't fight, shall we ? What matters is that both are save and sound."
"Yes,of course." The boy said, nodding.
Lilia gave you a playful smile, he knew what you were up since he was the one to provide the clothes Malleus was wearing. Something Sebek didn't seem to notice...just yet.

At the end of the day, you were exhausted. It turned put that was one of the rare occassions everyone wanted to invite Malleus somewhere but couldn't find him. So there was a party at the castle as well. Both you and Silver fell asleep at the table, it was a room away from where everybody else was so it wasn't that loud.
Unlike you, Silver had to wake up since nobody could actually carry him all the way to his house, but the prince had no problem carrying you to your room. He was accompanied by Lilia as well.

"She wasn't troublesome, was she ?" The man asked at one point, but Malleus smiled as he turned towards him.
"On the contrary, it was rather enjoyable."
