We had finished up with dinner and were going over a few things for the next couple of weeks.
"Ok, so here I feel like it's too wordy. We could change it to something simpler..." I was saying when the door swung open.
"Jack. I need..." Hanna said. "Oh, you're here. That was rather quick. But can't say I'm surprised. I just needed a pair of shoes I left. Unless the new first lady wants them. She has taken everything from me, might as well take my shoes and clothes."
"Hanna that's enough," Jack snapped at her.
"I should be going. We can finish this tomorrow," I said as I stood up.
"No please don't let me interrupt. I'll just be on my way." Hanna said, "you guys are obviously in the middle of something."
"We were done. I'm leaving see you tomorrow Jack. Bye, ma'am." I walked out. It was probably for the better and like I said we could finish tomorrow.jack pov
"Are you kidding me?" I said sternly.
"What?" Hanna asked playing the dumb blonde card.
"You said you were going to play nice."
"I said I would play nice through the divorce but I didn't say anything about after. If you want to move your new slut in less than 24 hours after the divorce then that's fine by me. Just pray to god that the press doesn't get word that you're are fucking your press secretary."
"You wouldn't dare. I'm not moving her in. It was a simple work dinner. we were in the middle of working on some speeches. Good god Hanna do you think we are dumb. We have a plan. Well had. It's slightly changed but most of it remains. We won't be going public and she won't be moving in until at least another 6 months, not that it's any of your business."
"Of course you have a plan," she gave a nice eye roll. She started walking towards the door. "and don't underestimate me and what I'll do with the information I know."
Once she reached it, I waited till she had it open to deliver one last blow. "Don't forget I have dirt about you to Hanna. And she'll be more of a first lady in the first week than you ever were in our whole marriage."
With that, she slammed the door behind her. I definitely hit a nerve with that one. I wish Emma would have stayed a little longer. I miss her already.Jack: Hey I'm sorry about Hanna. I wish you would've stayed. I miss you but I'll see you tomorrow.
Emma: Yeah I just couldn't stay there. She hates my guts and would have probably ripped me apart limb by limb if given the chance. I'm home, I think I'm going to go to bed. I will see you tomorrow. Night Jack.Jack: Night Emma. Have a good sleep. I will see you tomorrow.
The next day couldn't come any quicker. I made my way back to my room and decided to call it a night also. Hanna's bullshit pissed me off. What she said made me toss and turn for a little. The fact that she had threatened to take this, take us, to the press made my blood boil. She knew it was a dangerous move because whatever she would possibly say I could say something worse. She knew Emma would be able to handle whatever the press said. I finally was able to drift off to sleep.

I was heading to the oval when I ran into Emma.
"Hi good morning. You're here a little earlier than normal," I said looking towards her.
"Thought I'd come in early so we could finish up some of those speeches."
"Yeah since dinner was rudely interrupted."
"Hey, don't stress about it. It's no big deal."At this time we had reached the door of my office. I opened it for us, I let her in then followed, closing in behind me. I gave a general nod to the window. A small knot furrowed in-between her eyebrows. She followed me slowly.
"Hanna said something last night along the lines of 'wouldn't it be a shame if the press found out you were fucking your press secretary' but I think I handled it. I just don't want her getting too confident. And I think you should know in case anything does get out you can deal with it."
"Oh... um... well thank you for the heads up. Can I ask how you handled it?"
"She knows that if she tries to spill any dirt on me, I can spill ten times as much dirt on her. She would be opening freaking pandora's box."
"The campaign trail?" she questioned.
"You remember?" I asked looking into her eyes.
"That's the moment I think I fell in love with you. You trusted me. Someone you didn't know. Someone who had called you out the moment I saw it. But you still felt the need to tell me and only me. I knew at that moment you were serious about the presidency."
"You've known since that long?" This was the first time I had heard about this.
"I knew but you were married. Running to be the leader of the free world. I couldn't, we couldn't Jack. And I never believed in love at first sight. But here I was standing face to face with you and every time I was away from you I couldn't stop thinking about you."
"When we kissed and I asked you if you felt the same things I felt and you said no..."
"I lied. I'm sorry but at the time it was for the better. And if I hadn't we probably wouldn't be standing here today."
"You're probably right honey."
"I know I am."
"so those speeches are going to finish themselves."emma pov
We made our way back to the couch sitting next to each other. Working on different speeches for different events until James decided to come and join us. Andrew also joined us that day. They were all talking about what would be happening this week and I worked on my press statement to give that day. Lord help us and pray to god Hanna can keep her mouth shut for a while. I really want to keep my job simple but we all know, that never happens.
