act i : scene ix

y/n eneco's pov ; from ron and hermione's argument

after harry practically drags ron to gryffindor common room, hermione and i sat on the stairs near the great hall's entrance before. she hugs me as i rub her back. i didn't say anything and just let hermione spills her emotion. until, "i'm s-sorry if i ruin y-your moment with harry" she says between hiccups.

"shh, it's fine 'mione. you're not ruining any moment, it's ron who ruined your moment" i keep rubbing her back gently.

"i-i really want to go with ron but he used me as a last r-resort because he couldn't get those pretty girls and when he a-asked me it's too late that i'd go with viktor" she sobs harder and hugging me so tightly.

"listen 'mione" i pull out of her embrace a bit so that i could see her face. "you are a pretty girl. and remember that. ron just too blind to realise that the pretty girl's already waiting in front of him for him to ask her. he doesn't have the courage and he's definitely a git for using you as a last resort." her face is so red, her face tear-stained, her hair's a mess. "but at least you danced with the greatest seeker in the world" i wriggle my eyebrows, and hermione's giggling a couple of seconds before saying,

"thank you y/n. i don't know what do i do without you, probably bawling my eyes out" she smiles and hugs me one more time.

"'s no problem 'mione. boys are the problem" we both laugh at the fact i just said, "maybe we could hang out tomorrow? reading together or something, if you would i mean"

"sure, i can't help been best friends with those two boys and i need a girl friend in the same year!"

"yeah, maybe we could meet at the library at 1.35pm?"

"okay... i better get back to-"

"oh, want me to walk you?"

"no, you don't need to"

"nonsense, c'mon my lady" i stand up and extend my arm for hermione to take. she laughs and takes it, then we start walking towards gryffindor common room.

"you really don't have to-"

"'mione please you just have a bad night because of a boy, let me accompany you. also, i'm really sorry for the things i said or i've done to you and your friends back then, i don't even know why you're being so nice to me despite everything, which is all cruel things that i and draco and everyone else have done to you and your friends-" suddenly she stops walking, turns her body towards me and held both my hand tightly.

"everyone made mistakes y/n, including me, harry and ...ron. and i try my best to forgive everyone and their pasts. and you are my friend y/n and i'd thank you for your help for harry's tasks, that means a lot to me also harry and ron and ginny and the weasleys, harry's parents up there and many more" she smiles softly.

"thank you so much hermione" i hug her, tears trickling down my cheeks. just if i had the courage, i already be friends with hermione, harry and ron. and i'm on my way looking for it.

the two of us hugging in the middle of the dark, cold, and empty corridor. the wind passes by making our dress flowed. the soft sound from the great hall was heard. regretting and thanking each other for the stuff we've done.

i pull back and say "let's get you back to your common room, you look freezing" then we both walking to the gryffindor common room in comfortable silence.

"thank you... are you sure you're okay walking back alone to slytherin common room?" she says after we arrived in front of the gryffindor common room entrance.
