Being the maid of honour is not easy! I didn't volunteer for this...

Remind me to never ever go shopping with Bea ever again. God! I'm so fucking tired...

I just came home after spending the entire day running errands with Bea.
We went to the cake tasting. Then to Victoria's secret to decide her wedding trousseau. We only stopped once for a break and that was only when I begged her to let me eat something after her wedding dress shopping. She was running around like her wedding is tomorrow. Stupid bestfriend.

Apparently she just told me a few hours back that Derek and her are going on a pre-honeymoon for two weeks and will be back just a week before the wedding. They cannot go after the wedding because of Derek's busy schedule. He just got a job as the bank manager, since his joining is the next day of their wedding, they decided to go on a honeymoon now. They both don't mind as long as they are together and happy. Hence Bea's rush to get everything planned before they set off for their honeymoon to Bora Bora. Lucky Bea...

*Back to present*

Fine day, Sunday...

-No kids to deal with. Don't get me wrong. I love children and that's why I decided to become an elementary school teacher but I have my moments when I require peace.

-No Bea's frantic shopping spree as she is spending her time with Derek today.

-No wedding plans to take care of. For now.

Peace! At last!

I take my phone and scroll through the playlist, put some songs on as I open another romance novel to read.

I was so into it that I don't notice the time. I take my phone and see that I've been reading for at least 6 hours straight. Damn! Well nothing can cure me of my passion for reading and food. Nothing!

I put the book down and fix myself something to eat. Just as I started eating, I get a new notification. I pick up my phone thinking it must Bea, messaging me about her night out, but instead I find a new notification on that good-for-nothing dating app.

Hmm... Another worthless match I guess. Should I check it. Its been a few weeks since I got a match here. Ohh.. to hell with it!!

Deciding, I opened the app and see who happened to match with me.

Hmm who have we got here...

25, Accountant (own business), is a foodie and has two pet dogs. Both huskies... Cute!

Opening his profile, I find his photos and oh my fucking god!!! This man is gorgeous! To a perfectly sculpted face, those chiseled cheekbones, sexy cerulean eyes like the ocean that just draws you and drowns you in... That perfect nose... And oh god... Those lips... Those pink, luscious lips, the kind that entice you to kiss them and be kissed by them... How did I match with this guy again?

Fuck...

As I am checking him out, a message pops up from none other than Mr. Sexy Ass... Jacob Valtor unexpectedly messaged me when I was stalking his profile! Damn he's fast. That's what she said... I gwaf at my own joke.

Opening the message, I reply back..

Jacob: Heyy!

Me: Hello!

J: I hope you don't mind I messaged you...

M: It's alright.. although I'm wondering why did you message me?

J: I wanted to know you. Your profile seemed.. interesting...

M: Interesting? As in how? 😂

J: Well first of all, you are a foodie.. just like I am.. 😂
Secondly, you're very beautiful and I just thought how it would feel to have the presence of such a beautiful lady in my life... *Winks*

M: Mr. Valtor, are you trying to flirt with me?

J: No Ms. Rain, I would never commit such a hideous crime against such a gorgeous lady such as yourself... 😉

M: Hahaha... Now you're definitely flirting...

J: You wound my pride Ms. Rain, I don't flirt. I'm merely trying to impress you...

M: And why do you want to impress me?

J: So that I can know you better, Gorgeous...

M: Okayy... So you have two dogs. What are their names?

J: Someone did their homework huh! 😏 Their names are Milo and Lilo.

M: Cute names... So where are you from?

I wait for his reply for a few minutes but when he doesn't reply, I put down my phone and go outside to take a walk.

As I am walking around the park near my apartment, my thoughts went to Jacob. Even though it was such a small conversation, I did enjoy talking to him which was a first for me ever because I usually get bored while talking to guys on the app. They would either just try to get me to meet them or boast about themselves. Jake did nothing of the sort, it genuinely felt like he wanted to know me and he called me Gorgeous! God, he is so handsome himself.

I come back from my walk and go to the kitchen to fix my dinner. Bea isn't here today with me so I'm just heating the left over pasta I made instead of cooking something else. I heat it and put some on my plate and head for the living room. Putting the movie Dirty Dancing on, I dig into my food. Once I'm done, I do the dishes, finish the movie along with some popcorn before I decided to retire for the night. I totally forgot to bring my phone with me when I went out. I go into my bedroom, take my phone, drop on the bed and scroll through the new messages flashing on my screen. Bea isn't coming home tonight. Well I already figured that out myself. There was a message from Jacob too.

Jacob: I'm from Philadelphia. And you're from Manhattan. I stalked your profile... 😁

M: Creep! Should I be worried??

It is really late, and I don't expect him to reply almost instantly but he does.

J: You have nothing to fear from me...

J: Hey! Can we exchange numbers? If you're okay with it..

M: Sure! No problem.

I give him my number and receive a message from him..

J: Thankyou. This is much better..

I dont remember how long we talked about random things telling each other about ourselves and stuff, until I fell asleep. The next morning I checked my phone and there was another message from last night.

J: I guess you're asleep... Sweet dreams Gorgeous...

Just great! You slept in the middle of your conversation!! Real smooth, Roxy, real smooth! I roll my eyes at myself!
