It is early in the morning, 6 a.m. since my phone woke me up, I couldn't go back to sleep. It was Jake calling me to inform me that he is taking off. I am jamming onto Blue Jeans by Lana Del Rey, as I'm in the kitchen to fix something to eat for myself, but my music concert is cut short by Bea, slamming the door open of our apartment as she strolls inside with a pissed off look, with an equally pissed off Derek, walking behind her.

Well they seem quite happy for a couple who just got back from their honeymoon and are only a week away from the altar. Note the sarcasm.

"I can't believe it Derek! We are only a week away from the wedding and instead of helping with the final preparations and touches, you are worried about going back to work... Is it only me who's getting married? Dont you have any responsibility towards this whole thing?" Bea yells at him, clearly too angry that I can see fumes rolling off of her.

"I know love, I am going to help you, I just need to go back for only a day, a very important meeting is lined up and my boss wants me there. Please understand...." he says in a lower voice, not wanting to anger Bea anymore.

"I understand that Derek, but we just landed... And you're already thinking about work when you should've been excited for our wedding..." she replies in a small voice.

And here I am looking back and forth between them, caught right in the middle of their lover's spat... Should I make my presence known? You know... Diffuse the tension...

"I'm sorry, but I'll make it up to you... Okay?" he grins at her sweetly waiting for her reply.

"You better make it up to me and our wedding, you asshole..." she grumbles, finally a small smile playing at the corner of her lips.

He laughs and kisses her forehead before turning towards me, a look of surprise on his face as if he has just noticed me.

"Oh hey baby sister... Didn't see you there." he smiles, goofily at me, walking towards me and pulling me into a bear hug.

"Glad you noticed my presence you ape..." I snicker rolling my eyes at him, but hugging him right back. It's been a while since I last met him, with him being busy with his work. He is the big brother I never had and I'm the little sister he never had.

"Hey bestfriend..." Bea hugs me tightly to her, pushing Derek off me, causing him to lose his balance a bit, making us both laugh.

"Hey bitch!" I smirk at her, hugging her, squeezing the life out of her. God I missed her.

"How was your date last night?" She asks, with a mischievous glint in her eyes. To which I automatically blush.

Derek instantly stands up straighter. "Date? What Date?" He asks, confused.

"Our Roxy finally went on a date with a guy she met online after 4 fucking years, and I don't even know anything about the guy yet." She rolls her eyes at me.

"You went on a date? Why the hell I wasn't aware of this? What if that guy is a psychopath or a serial killer or an abuser... Have you thought about that, Roxy?" he panics, his overprotective side coming out.

"Oh Derek stop being so overprotective. I will tell you everything about him okay..."

"You better, and I want to meet him, ASAP. Set up a date." he says in a very stern voice.

"You're going to scare away the poor guy, D. Stop being so overdramatic. Take it down a notch, will you. Roxy can take care of herself." Bea reprimands Derek.

He huffs and goes away while grumbling under his breath something along the lines of how we can't just trust men and how men are untrustworthy creatures, wanting to get into your pants, etc etc.
