Chapter - 38

“This is... yours, isn't it?” I let out in a soft whisper still unable to believe what I am seeing. 

“You're spot on baby.” He gives me a huge grin.

“No freaking way!!!” I squeal loudly and jump into his arms. He catches me and twirls me around making me giggle.

“So this is what you have been working on all this time?” I ask him still a bit surprised.

“Yes. Welcome to the headquarters of JF Corps. My company.” His voice full of pride as he is gazing at the name of the building with light shining bright in his ocean-blue eyes.

“So does this mean you're shifting here?” I ask him, feeling giddy at the thought of Jake living in Manhattan.

“Yes. I'll be taking over this headquarters while Freya will handle the Philadelphia branch. Soon we are going to expand into other states and then in different countries. This was the reason I had to be here on meetings and I have been really busy. I have been planning to open the company here but was waiting for a good opportunity.” He rakes his hand through his hair messing them a little.

“And when you came along and crashed into my life like a meteor crash, I couldn't survive your impact and I made this decision that Manhattan will be the main area of my company's operations.” He gives me a heart warming smile.

“You did not just compare me to a meteor crash.” I narrow my eyes at him. He laughs it off and pulls me even closer, swoops down and steals a kiss from my lips.

“But you're like a meteor. They are called shooting stars too, you know. And you're my shooting star.” He grins widely at me and I just scoff at his terrible comparison.

“Of all the things you could've compared me with you chose something that can obliterate the life off this Earth. Unbelievable.” I roll my eyes at him.

“But you obliterated me. I had no defense.” He says, now fighting hard to control his laughter.

“Shut up. You're such a dork.” I pout at him.

“You're too cute. I love you.” He gives me a saccharine grin making a smile grow on my face too. I'll never get tired of hearing these words from him.

“I love you too.” I reply back snaking my arms around him and place a soft, sweet kiss on the corner of his mouth.

“So... Where will you be living? And when will you start working here?” I ask him.

“His annoying ass will be living with me for the time being. We are looking for a "posh" house for his majesty before I can kick him out.” Someone says from behind me and I turn around to look who it is. The man is handsome but not more than my Jake. He has pale blue eyes and blonde hair and a playful smirk etched onto his lips. He is as tall as Jake but is a bit more lean but in a good kind of way. I raise my eyebrow at Jake in confusion. He just rolls his eyes and flips the bird to the man who just chuckles at him and walks over to us and stands by our side. I turn towards him, Jake still holding me close to his chest. My back is pressed against his chest, his arms hugging my waist and his chin resting on top of my left shoulder.

“Hi. I'm Blake Sheldon. I'm this fucker's best friend.” He offers me his hand to shake and I take it. Oh so he is Blake.

“Hello. I'm Roxanne Rain. This fucker's girlfriend.” I say making Blake bark out a laugh and Jake lets out an offended gasp. He pinches my hip mockingly making me yelp a little.

I slap his hand away giving him a glare. He knows I'm way too ticklish yet he doesn't understand that.

“You two are so cute together. Finally I get to meet the woman who has Jakie-wakey whipped as cream. Trust me, if I had known you before he wouldn't stand a chance.” He smirks at Jake making him scowl at his attempt to flirt with me. I snort. Like hell. I'm as whipped for Jake as he is for me.
