Once Upon A Dream

Chapter 4

We searched everywhere but Maleficent was no where to be found.

"What if something bad has happened to her?"

"Nothing bad has happened to her. Maleficent will be back soon. She would never leave us"

"Maleficent!" we turned to see Aurora. "Maleficent!" She searched around. "Godmother!" She sat down and whispered something to herself.

"She's not in the Moors" Diaval told her as we appeared from behind a tree.

"Diaval, sister" Aurora stood running toward us.

"No one's seen her"

"I'm so happy to see you both" Aurora hugged us both.

"She's nowhere to be found"

"What if she never comes back?" that is when Diaval began to worry.

"I could be stuck as a human forever"

"I have to find her. She's the only one that can break the curse"

"Aurora she didn't place the curse on the King. I was watching her the whole night. She didn't do it"

"I just want her to break the curse"

"Listen to me" I grabbed her, turning her towards me. "Maleficent didn't do this"

"I have to get back"

"What about the Moors?"

"Take care of them while I'm gone" I didn't question her, she climbed back atop her horse and rode away not looking back.

"Diaval. I don't understand what happened tonight"

"Neither do I" he grabbed my hand and squeezed lightly, comfortingly. We continued to search for Maleficent the rest of the night. Hoping that perhaps when we came back there she would be. Having calmed down from the events of that awful dinner but when we arrived she wasn't here. Diaval and I continued to look despite the small sinking feeling that began growing in my stomach.

Maleficent might not be coming back. I thought and that thought alone made my heart hurt.
