Once Upon A Dream

Chapter 6

We finally spotted the chapel, Aurora outside trying to pull away something that was blocking the doors from opening. The organ we could hear before now clearly coming from inside the chapel.

"Aurora!"

"Diaval, Celestia! You're here" we tried to help Aurora move the heavy object but it wouldn't budge. Red powder erupted above us hitting the fairies that looked like Maleficent. Those hit turning into dust or other such things. They were dying. The sound of the organ stopped, I could just about hear a wail come from Knotgrass. Two guards appearend behind me and began to drag me away.

"Hey, you, stay with your own!" I struggled out of their grasp.

"Run, go, run!"

"Let her go!" that's when more guards appeared grabbing both Diaval and Aurora. Diaval struggled against the guards trying to reach me. Several of them tackled him to the ground.

"No! Diaval!"

"No! No!" soon Diaval was ingulfed in black smoke turning into a bear, I felt the tingling sentation on my back that I had not felt in so long.

"My wings!" I saw Aurora stating into the sky and I looked too. 

"Godmother" we continued to search the sky. That is when we spotted her. Coming down from the heavens like lighting striking the ground. She swooped down and with her powerful wings blasted soldiers off their feet. Blast after blast soldiers were thrown to the ground. She Flew above us and only stared at us saying nothing. She flew away, we watched as she destroyed the catapults that were being used to kill her people. I began trying to move the barricade from the door again, Aurora trying to help. Diaval in his bear form nudged us both out the way with his head. We stood to the side as he pulled the doors off with all his bear strength. All the Moor Folk came running out of the chapel. We ushered them out.

"Go! Go! This way! This way! Go!" Aurora yelled as they continued to run out of the chapel.  All the Moor Folk were almost out of the chapel.

"Come on! Go!" I yelled as they ran passed me. Aurora and stood next to each other, we looked to the sky seeing Maleficent.

"Maleficent's back!" Knotgrass exclaimed. 

"She's going for the queen" Aurora began to run.

"Aurora!" I yelled as she ran but she ignored me. I turned to Diaval and back to where the soldiers were fighting. I spotted a fallen sword on the ground from where Maleficent had sent the soldiers frying when she arrived. I grabbed it. "Come on. We need to go help Maleficent's people" I ran to where I soldier was about to attack a Fay from behind blocking them with my sword. I blocked again and again until the Fay knocked the soldiers around unconscious. Diaval came to my side and I smiled at him.

Then... Then the tingling of magic left me again. I turned my head to see my wings gone once more and as I looked to where Maleficent was, red smoke was behind her. She scattered like ash on the wing. 

"No!" I screamed falling to my knees, tears falling down my face, my heart... My heart shattering. 

"Maleficent is dead!" The Queen shouted and all I wanted to do was curl into a ball. I wanted nothing more than to curl into a ball and cry till I could not cry anymore. Because Maleficent... Maleficent was my family. She was like a mother to me. To Aurora. She was Aurora's mother. My mother. And now.. Now she's gone. "We will never again live in fear!" She turned. The tears fell down my face freely. 

Soldiers began to point at where the queen was. As I looked up I saw a big black bird. It roared and with one flap of it's enormous wing it destroyed one of the castle's towers. All the soldiers began to scatter. Running in pure fear of the bird.

The queen moved so fast I didn't know what sound I had suddenly made as she threw Aurora off the tower. I saw as she screamed, plummeting to the ground. I stood as fast as I could running to where she would be. Hoping that by some miracle I could save my little sister from death. But the bird moved faster and grabbed her just before she hit the ground. They both came crashing into the ground and I turned and ran towards them both. 

"Aurora!" I screamed as I ran getting closer to them. I reached them looking for Aurora. "Aurora?" She stood from the ground as did the giant bird. Looking 10 times bigger in person. I ran to my sister engulfing her in a hug. The bird roared behind us and as we turned to looked back at everyone all the faeries that looked like Maleficent had gone down on one knee or doing a bow of some kind. I watched as Philip came running towards us and Aurora met him half way. Hugging him tightly. As I turned the bird became Maleficent.

"Well, well" I spoke surprised but ultimately I was happy. Happy that Maleficent wasn't dead. 

"Hello, darlings" Aurora and I both hugged her tightly. As we parted Diaval arrived. "I missed you"

"Did you bump your head, then?" Diaval joked. 

"I did" we all chuckled.
