Once Upon A Dream

Chapter 7

"Philip" Maleficent called him over. 

"Yes?"

"Do you love my daughter?" She asked and had I not already known her I would have been scared by how she spoke to a prince.

"With everything I have" Maleficent smiled. A genuine smile of joy.

"Good" a pixie came running towards us, and as he paused in front of Maleficent he stretched out his hand, in it he had the end of a spinning wheel. 

"I believe this belongs to you" he said. Maleficent took the spindle. "Curses don't end. They're broken" she threw it into the sky and as we watched it Maleficent hit her staff against the ground twice. The spindle vanished meaning, hopefully, that whatever curse was on it and was used was now gone forever. Around us we watched Fey helping humans off the ground  and the other way too. 

"It ends" Philip said hopefully. "There will be no more fighting. Ulstead will never attack the Moors again. And from this day on... we move forward... and find our way... in peace" Philip announced to his people. "Together" 

"Today, there will be a wedding. Not just a union of two people... but a union of two kingdoms" Aurora announced. "And all are invited... all are safe... and all are welcome" Aurora grabbed Philip's hand and once again Maleficent banged her staff against the ground twice and her magic poured out . Branches began to grow from the ground, they climbed up the castle walls. Adorning them beautifully.  On all the branches were beautiful white flowers. It almost looked like the Moors was slowly becoming a part of the kingdom of Ulstead. Crowds began to gathered to witness the wedding.

Screaming. A woman was screaming. I looked over to the noise and there was the Queen screaming as some of the branches brought her down to the ground rather quickly and then she fell face first onto the ground. It was difficult not to laugh.

"We cannot live amongst monsters..." but she was interrupted as she turned into a goat. The goat bleated and I laughed harder.

"Someone should really cover those horns" Maleficent joked. As I stood next to Maleficent, some of her people landed in front of us. The one at the front of the group walked towards us.

"If only Conell could see you"

"Borra..." Maleficent spoke. "It's time to come home"

"Hello" Aurora's shy voice spoke behind us. As we turned she looked awfully shy towards the group. "Can you come here?" she asked Maleficent and I. We retreated under the tree who's flowers hid us from everyone. 

"Yes?" Maleficent asked as she approached Aurora.

"Will you give me away?" Aurora asked softly.

"Never"

"No. She's asking if you'll walk her down the aisle" I explained.

"Ah" Maleficent realised "yes" Aurora and Maleficent smiled at each other. Maleficent waved her hand and her magic came from her fingers, healing Aurora's scratched face. Faeries began to fry around her with fabrics that were covered in magic and suddenly Aurora was no longer in a tettered dress but a beautiful wedding dress. I left the tree. Running down the aisle so that I would be standing next to Diaval. Everyone saw the goat queen and chuckled. Even Diaval looked rather smug. Philip turned to us.

"Is that...?"

"She can change her back" he reasured. "I suppose" he said under his breath. I gently elbowed him in the gut, laughing slightly. He smiled at me. 

"Only if we wanted to" We all turned to see the King. Philip hugged his father who was now awake. Everyone began to cheer and clap for their King was back. I turned back to Diaval.

"Diaval..." he looked at me, staring me in the eyes. "5 years ago you awoke me from my curse and I never thanked you"

"There's no need for a thanks"

"No. But... I should have said this sooner" he waited paitiently for what I was going to say next. "Diaval, I love you. With all my heart. I know that all we've done these past couple days was look for Maleficent but I would love to show you how much you trully mean to me" he smiled from ear to ear.

"Celestia... I love you too. And I can't wait to show you too" I smiled going on my tiptoes and kissing him on the cheek. We turned as Aurora began to walk down the aisle with Maleficent. Her dress changing from green to pink to green when finally it settled on blue. She looked beautiful. "Celestia..." Diaval whispered in my ear. I nodded in response. "Marry me?" I turned to him surprised but I just smiled and nodded. We both turned back to Aurora and Maleficent and I could see from the corner of my eye Diaval wipe away a tear. They both paused in front of us. Diaval stepped forward, grabbing Maleficent's arm gently. "Let her go" he said softly and she did. Diaval sniffed again wiping another stray tear. 

"Pull yourself together" Maleficent then wiped a tear of her own. 

"We are here to join two kingdoms... devided by fear" 

Aurora and Philip were now husband and wife. With Diaval and I back at the Moors, Maleficent performed our wedding as the sun was setting. And for our gifts Maleficent bestowed a gift to both Diaval and I. Diaval would be allowed to turn into whatever animal he chose whenever he chose or if he so chose he could stay as a human. And I was given my wings again but they will never go. Even if something were to happen to her, though she reassured me that nothing would ever happen to her again, my wings will never go. Never disappear. Those were our gifts and we would cherish them forever.
