So... Do You Like Her? (Pt. 3)

(I apologise for the lack of updates. I wanted to make a Chinese New Year special, but maybe next year since I'm so inactive, I am trying as hard as possible to be more consistent though. But anyways happy Chinese/Lunar New Year to 🇨🇳🇭🇰🇯🇵🇰🇷🇹🇭🇹🇼🇵🇭🇲🇾🇸🇬🇻🇳. Also, happy lunar new year to the chinatowns and other asian communities across the world! I know I'm a little late. In China it was twelve hours ago, but my family and I currently reside in the US.)

"Holy crap! This is where you live???" Lucy inquired with shock. The palace was like 10 Heartfilia Mansions and a half. "If you live in a place like this, you must have the most expensive fishes in the whole UNIVERSE!" Happy cried happily. The thought of eating every fish in existence overfilled him with joy. Natsu just stared, he was trying to get a feel for his surroundings. It was weird, there would be times he leaves Magnolia for a job, but this time, it's permanent. He realized Happy, Lucy, and himself would be living here from now on. Especially since Lucy got rid of her apartment, and all of Fiore must know about the "scandal."

"Speaking of fish, might you three be hungry?" Zeref asked with a small smile. Happy nodded his head violently as he thought about all the different kinds of fish Zeref might keep in his castle. Lucy turned to look at Natsu, she held a sad expression on her face. Normally, the slightest mention of food would be enough to get him out of his funk, but not this time. Natsu didn't answer, just stood there. He noticed Lucy staring at him and immediately felt even worse. Lucy didn't mean to make him feel bad, so she turned her frown upside down, "C'mon Natsu, let's get some food. I bet it will definitely make you feel better!" She grabbed his hand and turned to Zeref, "Lead us to the food your highness!" Happy flied around with glee, "Aye!"

When the four of them got to the dining room, Lucy and Happy could not stop salivating. Wide varieties of food from different cultures all over the world. There was many traditional japanese food items, like Yakitori, over ten kinds of it displayed on the table. There was also Kung Pao Chicken (Gong Bao Ji Ding), Chow Mein, and a variety of other dishes from China. There was Banh xeo and Cao lau from Vietnam, Kare-Kare and Adobo from the Philippines, from India there was Aloo gobi and Chana masala, Zlebiye and Kibbeh Bil Sanieh from Syria, and sooooooo much more food from countries on other continents!

"Holy cow! Do you travel the world when you're bored or something? I've never even seen have of this stuff before!!!" Happy screamed. He had NEVER seen so much food in one place before. Zeref couldn't help but chuckle, the trio of friends were like a breath of fresh air for him. "Well, don't just stand there. Have at it! I'll come back when you guys finish eating, or at least get full. I'll show you to your rooms and get you all situated." Happy and Lucy quickly sat down and began eating. Natsu on the other hand, followed Zeref out. He was extremely weary of him, and didn't completely trust him. As a matter if fact, Natsu doesn't trust him AT ALL. 

Zeref exited the room and noticed Natsu following him. He stopped and turned to him, "Is something the matter? Why aren't you eating with your friends?" Natsu narrowed his eyes at him and gave him a terrifying glare, it was useless since Zeref just stared back, with the same confused face. "Listen buddy, I don't know what you want, or who the hell you are, but I will NOT let you do anything to Lucy or Happy," Natsu growled. Zeref began snickering, but then busted out into full on laughter. Now it was Natsu's turn to be confused. He didn't see how any of what he said was funny.

Once Zeref finally calmed down, he wiped an imaginary tear out of his eye. "Natsu, you really love those two, huh?" Natsu got even more confused, but nodded his head nonetheless. Zeref made an 'o' shape with his mouth. "Little brother, do you trust Lucy?" Natsu didn't like Zeref calling him little brother. He though it was weird tactic for Zeref to manipulate him. "Yea, of course I do, why wouldn't I???" Zeref sighed, "Well if that's true, why are you weary of me? If she trusts me, why shouldn't you?"

Natsu got pissed, he didn't appreciate people trying to use his friends against him. "Why shouldn't I be weary? You can out of nowhere claiming you know Lucy and that you are my 'older brother,' you take us to your kingdom, and then expect us to just be cool with it? And for your information, Lucy is EXTREMELY easy to fool. She trusts everyone and that allows them to take advantage of her, just to destroy her and make her life miserable. I'd be damned if Lucy got her by ANYONE ever again, ESPECIALLY since she left that shitty guild just for me!"

Natsu wasn't mad, it was evident. He was sad, he was sad that his whole family turned on him and left him alone. He's sad because he thinks he took Happy away from his family. He's sad because he feels that he destroyed Lucy's dream of being with her favorite guild in the world. He's sad because he thinks everything is his fault.

They stared at each other in silence. Natsu was the first to break the staring contest when he turned to wipe away his real tears. "So..." Zeref began. Natsu turned to him. "So what?"

"So... Do you like her?" Natsu was annoyed now, extremely annoyed. "Obviously I do since I just talked about protecting her." Zeref almost started laughing again, but he restrained himself. He shook his head with a smirk on his face, "I mean do you LOVE her? You know like, wife???" Natsu stared for a second, that was before his face turned into a massive tomato. He didn't know how to reply, the only things that came out were stutters, "Well... I... But... May... I'M GONNA GO EAT!" Natsu yelled before running away, leaving Zeref in a pool of tears from laughing so hard.
