Unnecessary Pranks (Pt. 1)

It was the next morning, and the citizens of Alvarez were elated. Today, all of the Spriggan 12 will be returning back to the empire. They were these strongest wizards on the continent, and with Zeref by their side, they were literally unstoppable. The 12 of them are certainly a force to be reckoned with. Despite how powerful they are, they're not known outside of Alvarez Empire, as a matter of fact, Alvarez Empire is also not known to a good portion of the world. No one seemed to mind, for they enjoyed not having to deal with other troublesome empires and kingdoms.

Zeref thought this was exactly what Natsu, Lucy, and Happy would need. Seeing the Spriggans would surely boost their mood, for they always liked meeting new people. Although, they radiate a lot of magic power, so it'll be a tad bit intimidating. But exciting nonetheless. Zeref quickly made his way to Lucy's room, for he had a strong feeling everyone was in there. He carefully pushed open the door and of course, he was correct.

Happy was now laying at the foot of the bed, a big contrast to when he was sleep on a pillow. Natsu was sprawled out all over with one of his legs over Lucy's stomach and one of his arms lying on her head. Despite that not-so-pleasant position, Lucy still slept peacefully, unaware of the unusual sleeping position her best friend took up. Her hands were clasped together underneath her chest as she slept like a baby. She was used to Natsu and Happy's eccentric sleeping habits, so she's learnt to deal with it.

Zeref stared at the three of them with hearts in his eyes. "They're all so cute~!" He whisper-squealed. Seeing the three of them share a bed like that reminded him of the times where Natsu would beg to sleep with him because of a thunderstorm.

The black wizard let out a content sigh. Even though Natsu had no memories of him whatsoever, he was still glad to have his baby brother back. Words couldn't begin to describe just how happy he was.

Deciding that it was time for the three to awaken, Zeref walked over to the bed and grabbed a random book from the drawer. He lifted it high into the air and slammed it down on Natsu's face, causing a deep growl to emerge from his throat.

His eyes shot open and he glared at Zeref. Unfortunately, it was short-lived for Natsu fell asleep just as fast as he woke up. Zeref's eyelid twitched before an evil smirk appeared on his face. At this time, Natsu was back into a very deep sleep. Therefore, Zeref decided to carry him to the bathroom, put him in the bathtub, and let nature take its course. He couldn't help but to let out a evil chuckle as he glared at his younger brother with an evil going in his eyes.

He wrapped one of Natsu's arms around his neck, and put his arm underneath his legs, carrying him bridal style. He walked into the bathroom and set Natsu down in the bath. He made sure that was water would be freezing cold, Natsu would have no choice but to wake up and stay that way.

Zeref turned the cold water knob and watched the water fall out of the shower head.

Almost immediately, Natsu jumped up out of the tub and quickly shook the cold water off of him. Zeref started snickering before he broke out into fits of laughter.

"Pffffft hahaha! You look like an idiot!" Zeref laughed as he bent over holding his stomach. He never realized that pulling pranks would bring him so much joy. Maybe it was because he did it to his brother that made it so funny.

Natsu glared at him as his faced turned red and his fists clenched. Just as he was about to send his older brother flying, Happy and Lucy walked in the bathroom.

"What's all the noise for?" Happy asked with a raspy voice. That was before he broke out into laughter as he rolled around on the ground.

"What happened to you?" Lucy asked Natsu as sincerely as possible. But it was evident she was trying to choke back her laughter. Who wouldn't though? Natsu's current state resembles that of a puppy whom got locked out its home and forced to spend an evening in the rain. "I can't believe Zeref got you to shower for once." Lucy added.

That comment alone was enough to send Happy and Zeref to tears. Lucy could only turn her head giggle at the dragon slayer standing in front of her. She grabbed a towel from the closet and began drying Natsu's hair. "It's not funny." Natsu growled. He didn't appreciate everyone laughing at his currently soaked state. As Lucy dried his hair, he though of says to get back at Zeref.

He pondered for a minute before he got the greatest idea of all times. He would put the hottest hot sauce in existence in Zeref's breakfast, and that'll make him learn his lesson — hopefully.

Thinking about Zeref's possible reaction, he smirked as he let out an evil chuckle.

"Alright you guys, let's eat!" Zeref said happily as he stuck his fork into his pancakes and began cutting them with a butter knife. He took a bite out of it and chewed with a smile on his face.

All of a sudden, his face turned red and steam came rushing out of his ears and nose. Tears fell from his eyes as he scrunched up his face before shouting at the top of his lungs.

"H-HOOOOOT!" He started running around the kitchen with is head on fire. Lucy ran after him with a bucket of water while Happy flew all over the room with spinning eyes, having no clue what the hell is going on.

Natsu sat in his chair as he began snickering, which turned into full blown laughter.

"Hahaha, Hahahaha, HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Natsu? Natsu? Natsuuuuu?" Natsu snapped out of his fantasy to come face to face with Zeref. He looked at him with slightly worried but weirded out eyes. Lucy and Happy were weirded out too, and who wouldn't be? Natsu went from having his face scrunched up to smirking evilly and muttering stuff to himself.

Natsu put on a big, fake smile — which everyone knew was fake at first glance — and laughed. "Yea, I'm good. I was just thinking of ways to get you back."

Lucy and Happy stared at him with a blank face and thought to themselves.

'Wouldn't it have been better to not say that? So the prank would be more... unexpected?' They silently pondered as they questioned weather or not Zeref forgot to put a brain in his head. With Natsu doing a bunch of dumb crap since the beginning of time, they started believing he was born without anything in his head. After learning that Zeref had created Natsu, the possibility of his head being empty went from 50% to 100%.

"Maybe his brain is hibernating?" Lucy said, more like asked. Happy quickly nodded his head with a smile before it faltered, turning into a frown instead.

"If that's the case, it should have woken up by now. Unless it's gonna sleep forever." Happy replied as him and Lucy began to snicker. Zeref held his hand in front of his mouth to keep the laughter in, trying not to further anger his younger brother to no avail.

Natsu stomped out of the bathroom and back on to the bed. He couldn't help but smile to himself.

"Yea... I think this is all the family I need."
