Recap: Zeref explains to both Natsu and Lucy how exactly Zeref and Natsu are related. Upon learning about the heart-wrenching story about his death and 're-creation,' Natsu leaves the room, to have some alone time. But not before he tells Zeref thank you.

CHAPTER 8: His Real Family is Right There.

Still at Alvarez Empire~

Once Natsu was out of the room, he ran through every hallway and ended up outside. The castle gardens were simply breathtaking. There were benches everywhere so people can sit and admire the scenery. There was also a lot of open areas for people to run and play in without ruining that garden. Luckily for Natsu, no one was around, so he sat in one of the benches and took a deep breath. "Heh, I ran out so fast, I forgot to give Zeref back this dumb book..." Natsu laughed to himself, before he started to cry.

"Why, why? Why did they have to do this to me? Why did they turn their back on me so fast? Why did Lucy and Happy follow me? They did nothing wrong, they shouldn't have chose to leave the guild..." Natsu whispered to himself. He could taste his salty tears as they ran down his cheeks. He hated everything right now. In his mind, it feels almost as though his entire life is a lie. He was trapped in a steel cage, with no hope of getting out.

Natsu's head spun around as his whole world fell apart in less than a week. It exploded and was shattered into a million pieces. And there was barely anyone to help him pick up the pieces and put everything back together. There's over billions of people in the world, yet somehow Natsu was unfortunate enough to end up with a life like this. He wanted nothing more than to end it all. To just take a sharp sword and jab it through the depths of his heart. In Natsu's mind, being dead was better than living this life.

Natsu kept his head down, his eyes shut tight, and cried as he dropped the book of E.N.D on the ground. He was all alone, and no one was their to comfort him, or so he thought. After a few minutes of sobbing, a head rested on his right shoulder, and something landed on his lap. "Are you okay Natsu?" A little voice asked from Natsu's lap. Natsu opened his eyes to see Happy staring up at him with glossy eyes.

Natsu looked over on his shoulder to match eyes with Lucy. She held a small smile, despite the tears that were threatening to fall down her face. She wanted to keep on a brave face for her two friends. She hated the situation just as much as Natsu, but she wouldn't let it beat her below rock bottom. Which is where the three of them are in a way. "I'm... I'm..." Natsu was unable to finish his sentence before he broke down in sobs all over again.

Lucy rubbed his back and patted Happy's head as he joined his dragon slayer in crying. "It's okay... to not be okay, Natsu..." Lucy spoke softly. Watching her two friends cry made it impossible for Lucy to stop tears from running down her face. "It's okay, if you just want to cry right now. We'll still be here for you." Lucy's words made Natsu cry even harder, if that was even possible. He leaned on his side and set his head up on Lucy's thigh. Happy flew onto Lucy's head.  The three of them continued to cry, letting all their bottled up emotions out.

It was almost as if they were talking to each other. The crying was their way of expressing their overwhelmingly negative feelings. Natsu and Happy's cries were loud, like they had been dying to tell their story. Lucy's cry was silent, as if she was listening and encouraging them to tell her more about their feelings. As the cries went on, Zeref watched from afar. It was a rather heart-wrenching moment, but he was still happy to say the least. He knew he didn't have to worry about Natsu.

"His family, his real family, is sitting right beside him."

At the Fairy Guild in Magnolia, Fiore~

The guild has never felt so... ashamed. Ashamed to know that they basically betrayed one of their members. Ashamed to know that they did believe him. Ashamed to know that they lost three of their family members. Once Natsu was forced out, they knew the guild would never be the same. Once they realized he did nothing wrong, they knew that they were a horrible family.

The rain poured down even harder than before. Erza left very guild to find Gray, which wasn't every hard considering he cries louder than a husky's whine. Erza found Gray sitting up against a tree with a red dent in it. His knuckles were bleeding, so Erza simply put two and two together. "Gray... Natsu did do anything wrong..." Erza began. Gray balled his fist as he quickly stood up.

"For goodness sakes Erza! We saw what he did, what the hell is wrong with you?!" Gray growled. Deep down, he missed Natsu more than anyone else, but he wasn't going to act as if Natsu didn't murder a whole village. "No Gray. Doranbolt from Magic Counsel came, apparently, some weird monster came and destroyed the village. Not Natsu, he was simply framed. Erza explained as tears ran down her face. Or maybe is was rain, in this harsh weather, it's hard to tell.

Gray's eyes widened before he grabbed Erza by the neck and pulled her close. "Erza... you better not be lying to me right now..." Gray growled in her ear. Erza let out a little sob, as it was getting harder for her not to break down in tears. She wrapped her arms around gray and said,

"We're a horrible family..."
