Recap: Natsu, Lucy and Happy arrive at the forest Lucy was so excited to train at. Natsu starts getting a weird feeling that something is going to happen, but it's not something bad. Back at the guild, the members began to realize that from here on out, this will be life in Fairy Tail. Back with the dynamic trio, a very old friend of Lucy's reveals himself as also being Natsu's older brother. His name is Zeref Dragneel. But the real question is, why is he here? And why did he choose now to show himself?

CHAPTER 5: So... Do You Like Her?

"I'm your older brother Natsu." Zeref said once more. It was still very hard to believe. Natsu can't recall ever seeing him before, but then again, he can't recall a lot of things. "That can't be possible! We don't even look a little bit related!" Natsu shouted, resulting in Happy waking up. Why he didn't wake up before is beyond anyone. "That is true, we don't share that many physical traits, but I can assure you, we are brothers." Zeref said as he sighed. He was kind of hoping that Natsu would just automatically accept it, but he knows it doesn't work like that.

"And also, what do you mean that Natsu and I have met before? I can't remember any of that." Lucy asked, clearly confused by the words coming out of Zeref's mouth. Zeref thought about weather or not he should tell them the truth. "Well, it's, uh, complicated. I don't really know how to explain, so I'll tell you two at a later date." Lucy and Natsu looked at each other and decided to leave it be. They turned back to Zeref and Lucy asked, "Not that I'm not happy to see you again, but, why are you here all of a sudden?"

Zeref then lightly hit himself in the head for forgetting to tell Natsu and Lucy why he was their. "I can't believe I forgot. Well, to put it shortly, I want to help you both. I saw that little guild did to Natsu and how only you and that little guy defended him." Zeref said as he pointed to Happy, who just stared in confusion. Natsu looked at him suspiciously, "So you've been stalking me?" Zeref chuckled and sat down in the ground. He somehow managed not to get wet by the pouring rain, shocking right?

"No, I only arrived in Magnolia yesterday. I've been on an entirely different continent up until yesterday." Zeref explained. Lucy looked at him in admiration and curiosity. She hadn't been out of Fiore ever, she's only ever read about all the different places of the world. "That sounds amazing! You can just travel wherever you want and whenever you want?" Lucy asked fascinated. Zeref could see how curious she was and smiled. "Lucy, you really haven't changed all that much since you were younger huh?"

Lucy let out a small giggle and shook her head. "Not really, the only difference between then and now is the way I look." Lucy answered as she lightly pulled on her cheeks. Natsu was a little confused on how Lucy hasn't seen this man for years, but can still have a comfortable conversation with him. But Natsu has learned that Lucy has good judgement, so he won't stop her. "Anyways, I just wanted to ask you both, or should I say you 'three', if you all would like to come with me to my home and train?" Zeref asked as he stood up.

"Train? At your home? That sounds like it would be fun, and very beneficial. What do you bout think?" Lucy asked as she lifted Happy off her head and sat him on her leg. Happy rubbed his chin in a thinking notion. Even though he really wasn't thinking about it at all. "It sounds like a plan to me!" He answered excitedly. Lucy then turned to Natsu. She could see him having some serious doubts about this. "If you don't want to, we don't have to. Whatever you want to do, we'll do it too!" Lucy said in a very reassuring way. As much as Natsu didn't think this was a good idea, he didn't want to kill Lucy or Happy's joy. They seemed like they really want to do this.

"Sigh, okay then, let's do it." Natsu answered with a toothy grin as he stood up. He held out his hand for Lucy to take and she gladly did so. "Alright you three sit tight." Zeref said as he put his hands together. A magic circle with ancient writing surrounded them. Purple light rose through the circle. Within a few seconds the gang was now in a whole new place. "Welcome to Alvarez." Zeref said happily as he watched the trio observe their surroundings. They were pretty much speechless.
