I'm not worried

I breathe in deeply as I shift the weight of my backpack on my shoulders.

Technically I don't need a backpack, but despite getting into the most prestigious college for young gods; I find mortal tools nifty and interesting.

I close my eyes as I take my first step onto the college grounds, almost in anticipation of something crazy happening.

I'm almost disappointed when nothing feels different.

I'm officially in college.

And I'm the same ol' Hermes as always.

I've never previously been a very rigorous student, so my grades aren't what got me to this school.

I typically earn the favor of peers and teachers quickly, which gives me lenience with schoolwork. I just show them some of my abilities; and they're stunned enough to almost worship me.

I'm not incredibly naturally gifted, I just know what I'm doing and am always looking for interesting ways to express my talents.

I know how to make use of objects and to trick or convince people into giving me what I want.

I intend to do the exact same thing here.

As I walk into the large lecture hall of my first class, I notice how many students are here.

Lots of competition for attention from the Olympians.

That's why most of us are here, for the annual ceremony where the Olympians come to Olympus's college and try to look for more Olympian candidates.
It's incredibly prestigious and supposedly most don't even get a second glance from the Olympians. They just must not be as cool as me.

Most young gods and goddesses want recognition, but only the most gifted even make it to this school.

It's crazy to think that only a couple will ever gain the favor of one of the major gods.

However, I'm not worried.

Is it even a competition at this point? I'll beat them all.
