Daphne kicks me from across the picnic table. "Come on, don't avoid the topic. We're all dying to know."

Circe nods in agreement, but Hypnos shakes their head grumpily. I chuckle.

"Guys, really there's nothing to tell. Eros and I aren't new, it's been about three weeks now."

"Really? I can't believe it's been that long," Circe shakes her head. "Damn, how did you get a boyfriend so fast? Teach me your ways."

"Once you're as incredible and sexy as me, I'll give you some lessons," I laugh. Circe rolls her eyes. "I'm kidding!" I assure her. "You don't have a problem getting gods, just a problem with finding good ones. There's a difference."

"Part of it may be luck," Daphne shrugs. "It's hard to tell."

"Okay, okay. Enough with the romance chit-chat," Hypnos sighs. "Can we talk about something I can relate to?"

"Well, I'm absolutely behind on all of my projects." Daphne sighs. We all bashfully nod in agreement. There are some things about school that always stay the same.

...

My human studies class with Apollo has been tense for the past couple weeks. I've gotten used to Apollo's cold shoulder, and have backed out of apologizing too many times to count.

I tell myself the timing is wrong, or he seems agitated today already. Truth is, it's all just excuses. I don't normally back out of anything, but he trips me up for some reason. It's easier to ignore the situation than become vulnerable and apologize, potentially making it worse.

Apollo has slightly cooled off the past couple weeks, we don't engage unless necessary but his iciness isn't as harsh as it was in the beginning. I try to ignore it. Eros keeps telling me not to worry about it, and I should probably listen to him.

I push away my nagging thoughts and turn to the lecturing professor, trying to regain focus on the class.

"Your earth comparison projects are due today," the professor loudly reminds everybody.

Shit, I think. I nearly forgot that Apollo and I didn't finish ours- I was so caught up in the drama that followed our canceled trip.

I turn to the side, and Apollo looks equally discouraged. I wonder if he remembered. Well, all I can do is hope for the best. This project was a big one, but as long as it isn't worth too much of our grade then we can ignore that it ever happened. Plus, if it was that important to Apollo he'd have worked it out with me by now.

"This assignment is worth ten percent of your grade, so make sure it's turned in." The professor sets down a large textbook and paces the room. "I know it's a lot, but other workload in this class is slim and I gave you a while to finish it. I'd better not hear any complaining."

I groan and start to sweat. Yeah, there's no way I can get away with this. I look at Apollo again, and he's scowling towards the teacher.

I wrack my head for any new ideas, or new solutions to this issue. After a good minute of thinking, I realize there isn't, and sigh in defeat. Yep, there's one way to solve this issue both about my grade and Apollo. I sigh and pray to Zeus that this will work.

After class, I shoot Apollo a smile before he heads out the door. His response is a slight pause before turning his head away from me and exiting without looking back. Sighing, I really hope that I can fix things between the two of us. I've been cowardly long enough.

Approaching the professor, I smile as I clear my throat to gain attention.

"Yes?" He sets down a stack of papers, looking up at me.
