Ella gasped as the group flickered back in heaven. She looked around, her head still reeling from all the teleportation. Kat, however, seemed as unfazed as ever. She went up and ordered a large coffee. Then, with the group in tow, Kat sat down at a table. As Ella sat down, she got the strangest feeling of deja vu. Looking out the window, she was finally able to place the diner. It was Sonny's diner, where the group had first met up. Kat took a long sip of her coffee, and snapped her fingers. In front of her, a clipboard and feather quill appeared. Kat signed, and spoke half to herself and half to the group. "You will not believe how much paperwork you have to do when you light a demon's ass on fire." Kat was writing down a statement as she turned in Anastasia's direction and explained the trip.
"So, you asked about my flames, well that was actually a good question." Kat paused to write something else down. "Every angel has a special way they kill demons, some get enchanted blades, others make special bullets, and I have my flames. I'll take your weapons and enchant them once I get back home. I didn't think we would get a kill mission this early into training." "This is considered early?" John interrupted. Kat didn't get mad or yell, she just looked over at him with a funny look on her face. "Yeah, this is majorly early, trainees usually get at least a week before they get to leave heaven. Cecilia must be really swamped to assign a new team to go out and fight." At this, George looked up, wearing his trademark scowl. "Who is Cecilia?" George asked, his voice gruff.
Kat looked down and finished the last thing on her paper. "Cecilia is like the commanding officer, she's the big boss who works at the top of the High Tower." Kat snapped her fingers again, and the clipboard disappeared. "Well, I have some business to attend to, you guys can go home, its close to midnight, job well done.". As Kat looked back at the group as she left, she had the final word. "Meet me at my house, at noon." With that, Kat walked out the door and teleported into the night.
Cecilia sighed, the mountain of paperwork was slightly smaller. A figure flickered, then became visible in her door. Cecilia jumped, then realized that it was only Kat. "You scared me", Cecilia said, as Kat approached, her purple eyes almost black. Kat looked at Cecilia and smiled in such a calm and restrained way it was scary. "I had my team for a day, and you send us down to earth.". Cecilia smiled nervously. She figured Kat would come and gripe about that. "Kat, I'm low on angels, there was nothing else I could do." Kat frowned and walked out of the office, not content with Cecilia's answer. "Don't assign anything else tomorrow, because I'll just burn the scroll and beat up the delivery boy, and I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again." Kat teleported out of the room.
Cecilia rubbed the goosebumps on her arms. Kat insisted on teleporting like a demon. It was always unnerving to watch her flicker out of sight. And not even to mention the flames. Angels used weapons, and the flames power originated out of Kat's still demon arms. Cecilia sighed in defeat. Its not like Kat could be replaced, her 350 years as a demon made her valuable and irreplaceable. Cecilia looked at the clipboard that had appeared on her desk. It took Kat less than 5 minutes to kill a category 2 demon. Cecilia shuddered as she realised, even if she wanted to get rid of Kat, nobody would be able to stop her. Cecilia sighed, turning off the light. What was she thinking? Kat was a good angel who did her job and did it well. This kind of thinking was caused by a lack of sleep, and nothing more. Kat wouldn't betray heaven, would she?
