The couple froze, then they turned around slowly. Kat's posture was casual, but she was tense. Her mouth was smiling, but her eyes were cold. The woman smiled, but it wasn't genuine. "And who might you be?". She asked Kat, her voice doing very restrained. Kat kept her seemingly easy smile on her face like a mask. "Come on, surely you remember me? It only been about...... 50 years since we last were together." The woman took a shaky breath, and tried to compose herself. "Kat?" She asked, her voice as quiet as a whisper. Kat kept on smiling. "Hello Envy, and Lust."
Envy broke into a grin, and sat down next to Kat in the booth. Lust followed suit. Ella couldn't help but stare at him. That boy was not bad at all. He really did look like a mix of Jason Snackles, Jacob Moose, and Mica Icans. Lust caught her eye and smiled. Ella blushed. Kat just rolled her eyes. Envy grabbed Ella's coffee and took a sip. "So," she said, her brown eyes staring at Kat. "What's it like up top? Along with all the big shot angels and the good souls?" Kat, Envy, and Lust all started laughing. Ella pouted. She didn't understand why they were laughing, and she didn't like being left out.
Once they had finished, all three were smiling real smiles. Ella fuel left out. These three obviously knew each other. She wasn't needed. Just then, Kat pulled Ella towards her. "This is Ella, she's cool." Lust nodded, and sent Ella a spine-chillingly beautiful smile. Envy still looked suspicious. "Kat, can I talk to you alone?" Envy nodded towards Lust. He grinned, flashing his bright white teeth. "Come on Ella," he said smiling. "I'll show you around the city.". Ella was speechless. She could only nod. Lust took her hand and they walked out of the cafe. Kat snapped at her fingers under the table, and Ella was freshened up. Envy looked at Kat, her eyebrows arched. Kat shrugged, shipping her coffee.
Envy turned around towards Kat. Her eyes turned cold and serious. "Kat, you are in some serious shit." Kat turned slightly more towards Envy. "I'm a demon turned angel, what do you think my daily life is?" Envy's eyes narrowed. "Do you think this is a joke? Kat, Sloth came to Lucifer with information about you, and your survival. I didn't even know that you survived. How did he find out?" Kat shrugged her shoulders. She really didn't know. "I would say that the angels sold me out, the backstabbing do-gooders. However, the only thing they hate more than me is demons, so I really don't know." Envy sighed in defeat. "I give up." She said with finality. The two women sat in silence at the table, just holding their cooling coffee cups.
