“What?” replied George.  This was very confusing.  As an ex army guy, George took killing people very seriously.  “Easy,” Kat said.  “Take those weapons that are already in your hands, point them at me, and just stab and/or shoot, it’s really not that hard.”  Anastasia looked at her like she was crazy.  “Kat,” Anastasia said slowly.  “Weapons kill people.”  Kat just smiled at Anastasia like she were an ignorant small child.  “That is, assuming you’ll hit me.”

The group just stared at her in confusion.  Kat looked very smug.  “You say all this like you guys could hit me.”  At this Ella grew angry.  “I took archery lessons for 7 years!” she stuttered.  Kat just grinned even bigger.  “Then…hit…me.”  Kat said slowly, as if the group were stupid.  With this, John took a pistol out of his fanny pack and fired three rounds.  Kat didn’t even flinch as all three bullets narrowly missed her.  after seeing this, John seemed to have a nervous breakdown.  He twitched and then fell to the ground.  Kat took a couple steps forward and looked at John.  She sighed with disappointment.  “That’s one down, only three to go.”  She looked over at the rest of them, grinning like a maniac.  “Who’s up next?”

Anastasia looked at her dagger like it was covered in slime.  She picked it up daintily and stepped towards Kat like she was going to cut vegetables.  She made a weak stab at Kat.  Kat just rolled her eyes and grabbed Anastasia’s wrist and twisted until she fell to the ground.  Once Anastasia was on the ground, she scooted back on her butt until she was pressed against the wall on the opposite side, her eyes wide with fear.  Kat snorted at Anastasia’s failure.  She looked back up at George, saw the machete in his hand, and grinned once more.  She lowered herself into a fighting position.  “Come on Mr. Ex-Army,”  Kat taunted,  “Show me what you’ve got.”

George scowled.  He looked around the room, scanning the ground.  George saw no obstructions, he charged, machete swinging.  Kat smiled, stepping out of the reach of his swing. He spun around, his foot shooting out towards Kats abdomen.  Ella notched an arrow and aimed it at Kat.  Then the oddest thing happened.  Kat seemed to flicker, and then vanish entirely.  She reappeared behind George and kneed him in the gut, forcing him to the ground.

Ella let her arrow fly.  Kat didn’t even look at the flying object, she just reached for her gun, and the arrow hit one of her gloves.  Ella cringed.  She hadn’t meant to actually hit Kat, she had figured that Kat would have gotten out of the way.  The arrow ripped the fabric of Kat’s right glove, and then clattered to the ground.  Ella looked at Kat’s hand in amazement.  Well, it wasn’t really a hand.  Where pale, soft skin should have been, there were the most amazing, beautiful, scary dark violet scales.
