John was nervous. Hell wasn't nearly as nice as heaven. He sat in top of his filthy cot, observing the demons as they came and went. All the demons were scary looking, and none of them looked happy to see him in their barracks. His cot was pushed off into a corner, being an angel was like a virus, and he was quarantined. He hadn't heard from Sloth since Kat, Ella, and Lust got away. Envy wasn't so lucky. John frowned at that. It had seemed a shame to waste such a perfect woman. But Ella had rebuffed him and run away with a traitor/demon. The thought made his blood boil.
Girls had never liked him, and even after he was an angel, who was trying to protect her, Ella still went after the attractive demon, Lust. Lust would pay, that was for sure. John had a long list of people who would pay, but part of this was that he was a very judgemental person, whom nobody liked to get along with. Bit the one thing that worried him was Sloth. She hadn't spoken to him at all since the mission went south. Arnold Green managed to escape, but his followers weren't as lucky. However, Green had seen John, so he could longer return to heaven. There was an old demon who walked straight up to his cot and stared down any John with ruby red irises. "Lucifer will see you now.". The old man stated before getting up and leaving, indicating that John follow him.
The old man tottered towards a large mansion that was placed precariously on an island in the middle of a lava moat. The door swung open for the old demon without a single touch. John had to scurry quickly through the doors before they slammed shut with a loud BANG! John looked around nervously. There weren't any other exits in the large mansion. It made a mad sort of sense. Lucifer wouldn't want people to escape easily. John had to jog to keep up with the old man. The demon moved quickly. Pretty soon, the pair came to a pair of large, ornate doors.the old man halted by the side as the doors swung open in a grand manner. John walked in, with quick short steps. He gasped as he saw Lucifer, who was sitting on his onyx throne.
Lucifer was not at all like anything John had been expecting. He was a young man, early twenties, with tan skin, blonde hair, and bright white teeth. Lucifer was dressed in a pink polo and khaki shorts. "John, my man!" Lucifer exclaimed, getting up from his throne, a cocky grin on his face. "It is good to see you buddy!" John stood there, petrified. This was not anything like what he had expected. Lucifer snapped his fingers, and a chair appeared. Lucifer motioned for John to sit, so John sat down reluctantly.
Lucifer circled around John's chair, putting his hand on John's shoulder. "So, John, you were a member of Kat's team, right?". Lucifer sounded so sincere that John relaxed a little bit and nodded. "Yes I was, sir." He replied, his voice hardly shaking at all. Lucifer laughed, and John felt like he had said something wrong. "That's great son, and I have a very special job for you.". John's chest swelled with pride. Hand picked by Lucifer, that was something not everyone could claim. "What is that sir?" John asked eagerly. Lucifer studied his fingernails intently. "Bait" Lucifer replied. John's face went cold, and he didn't even have time to cry out before he felt a hard blow to the back of his skull. His vision went black as he faded into unconsciousness.
