"Listen, Hurley, you can't possibly ask me to do anything right now, you know I'm on vacation." I said to my mentor who sighed in annoyance.

"Rapp, you don't have a choice this time. I know I'm the one who told you to take some vacation and rest for a while but turns out we actually need you. It's urgent." He explained over the phone with an unfazed tone of voice.

I was still unpacking in my hotel room in Japan, the scenery being absolutely ideal for some much needed vacations away from an exhausting work when I got a phone call. It literally had been years since I had a proper break and I really needed it, my body needed it.

"You're the only one capable enough to do the job." The man said in a attempt to convince me to co-operate.

"Come on Stan, I need those vacation." I pleaded with an exhausted sigh as I dropped the shirt I had taken out of my suitcase on the bed. "Besides, between you and me, you're the more capable one. Why don't you do it? I never asked for anything, you know that better than anyone but I'm afraid this time is different. I'm sorry, Hurley, but those vacation are my priority for now. Find someone else."

A knock on the door made me turn around and walk towards it. I reached behind me and carefully took a hold of the gun that was always tucked in the back my jeans. I opened the door, the phone still at my ear just in case I needed back up, only to see Stan himself standing their with a small smile. He lower his own phone off his ear and hung up before putting it away in his jeans pocket.

"You have got to be kidding me" I muttered when I recovered from the shock, putting my phone away as well. "Stan, come on" I pleaded while tucking the gun back in my jeans but he ignored me completely.

I should've known this was exactly what he would do. Coming here to get me and drag me back in America. Stan didn't do well with people not listening to his demands and orders. I, on the other hand, didn't really care if he liked it or not and he knew it. That didn't mean I was being direspectfull or refusing to do anything, I usually followed every order he threw my way and that was mostly why I was the best of them all but like I said before this time was different.

"Sorry kid, but we really need you. I'm pretty sure you'll want to be on this case anyway." He said, his face becoming a little more serious than before.

He pushed me to the side and entered my hotel room while I rolled my eyes and slammed the door shut. I walked back to my bed to see him packing my suitcase with a preoccupied expression on his face. Now that was not normal. He was a man that never got his emotions to show on his face when it was work related. He taught me to never let work get personal and I learned the hard way but seeing him get slighty less stone cold was a clear sign that something was not going as it was supposed to.

"Okay, what is it?" I asked in a sigh, folding my arms over my chest as I looked at him.

He turned around to face me only to shrug in reply and go back to folding my clothes messily. I observed him for a short minute and was sure something had went completely wrong.

"Spit it out" I said, sitting on the bed and he sighed, finally closing my suitcase as he had finished packing all my stuff.

"Nothing's wrong." He said quietly which wasn't his normal behavior at all and I scoffed.

"Right" I said and waited for him to speak.

"You'll know soon enough." He said, turning around and walking out of the room without a single word.

I sighed, closing my eyes for a short second, rubbing my face as I tried to get rid of the exhaustion in my system before getting up on my feet, grabbing my suitcase again and walking out of the room.
