No One's POV
~a month earlier~
People were running in every directions. Shouts and frustrated sighs and huffs leaving their mouths as they rushed around the room. Yet, in the middle of all the chaos, two people were standing stiffly --stern expressions to their faces-- before a huge screen, watching a specific red, unmoving, dot on a map of the country. Orders had been given minutes ago and they were all preparing themselves to go, making sure nothing was being left out by mistake.
Time was precious and didn't have the luxury to waste any on small and stupid mistakes they surely could have avoided. Now wasn't the time to play around and everybody knew it.
"I want the top agents to go first" The woman demanded as she turned around to look at the commotion behind her. Scanning the room with thoughtfull eyes, seeming as if she was making sure no one was lazing around when in reality she was thinking about every single way they could do this without failing miserably.
"Are y-"
"This is not negociable" she cut the man next to her as soon as he opened his mouth to speak. She was stressed enough as it was and didn't need another problem or complaint to had to the pile.
"You know damn well I will never argue with that. But are you sure this is going to work, Irene?" the man asked, his frowned eyebrows saying how unsure he was about the whole situation as he watched the hidden nervousness of the women break through her walls for a brief second. Don't get him wrong, he was as stressed and nervous as her but he was just better at hiding it.
At least for now.
Everybody was restless but for the people emotionally concerned by the situation at hand it was ten times worse. It had already been too long and a lot of things could have happened in that time.
"No" she replied in honesty, turning her gaze to him this time. "But we have to do something. I need to do something about all of this. We sent Mitch in there on purpose so that he could find Thea and we could find where all those teenagers disappears to. With the chip in his arm, we finally found a lead. I won't let my best agent and his daughter rot in whatever place they were put in any longer." she exclaimed, feeling guilty and powerless as she didn't know if the two were okay or not. "Stan, I can't wait another minute. We need to move, now."
Stan stared at her for a long minute, watching her expressions and the desperation in her eyes while her words swirled in his head. He finally nodded once, walking down the two stairs that was seperating the main area --that was reserved for the high ups-- from the rest of the room and led the top agents outside without a single word and a knew determination coursing his veins.
After an hour of waiting, the van that was transporting the top agents arrived at the destination and Stan talked to Irene through his earpiece. The directions had been given before hand but a few last minute orders and helpfull directions were given just as the van parked in a pretty hidden spot, not far from where Mitch should be according to the signal from the chip that remained in his arm.
"Alright, Hurley" Irene said in his earpiece in a nervous but determined voice. "What do you see so far?" she asked as soon as he informed her they had left the van.
The middle-aged man was crouching behind bushes with his agents, observing his surroundings silently. They had come this far and now all they had to was observe the surroundings, keep quiet and infiltrate the building to rescue the teenagers. Hurley only hoped that this would be as easy as said and done.
"I'm not really sure what I'm looking at right now" he replied in a hushed and confused voice, making her frowned.
"What do you mean?" the confusion in the woman's voice would have made Stan laugh if the situation was different. But right at this moment he didn't have time nor was he in the mood to laugh and make jokes. He shuffled around a little, trying to find a better position and sighed when he couldn't get a little more comfortable as he was crouched down in a very painfull way.
