The Halloween feast was brilliant Melody, and her friends devoured the food in front of them chatting happily until everything crumbled away in the space of minutes, Melody couldn't help but laugh as Quirrell came running into the great hall collapsing after sending the hall into a frenzy. The group was surrounded by cheers but Melody's leadership skills came out in full force, 'stick together, get everyone in a straight line and take them to the common room,' she ordered as the hall fell silent to dumbledores commands.

Oliver couldn't help but notice how Melody was in her element, she had jumped onto the table and was organizing her house practically glowing in the excitement.

'First years pair up with someone older, get in a line, Alex and Cedric take the front lead the way.' She ordered the group started to do as they were told whilst she ordered the group of prefects the older prefects watching in awe, 'seventh years spread throughout, me and Olivia will take the back, wands out everyone.' Hufflepuff fell in line and started doing as they were told whilst the other houses still ran around screaming. Melody held the door open and watch her house pass through before Harry was pulling at her robes.

'Potter you should be with your house,'

'I know I know he spoke quickly but its Eleanor, she's in the dungeon toilets with Hermione,'

'She's what?!' Melody yelled at the first years, 'Olivia go at the back do not lose anyone,' she ordered as she grabbed a hold of the two first years robes and pulled them into a corner the rest of the houses rushing past.

'Shit,' Melody muttered after hearing the story, her first thought was to get a teacher she ran to grab one but they'd all gone, no doubt to deal with said troll. 'Shit,' she muttered again her mind running a mile a minute, she'd have to deal with it, she'd need some help though there was no way she could deal with a mountain troll and keep four first years safe. She span around seeing who was still around her, 'Wood,' she shouted, he turned around confused and walked over sensing the agitation in her voice.

'Melody you should be in your common room,'

'I know but Eleanor and Granger are in the dungeons,'

'Shit,' he answered, 'right let's go,'

'What?' Melody asked incredulously, but he and the first years had already started walking off, she followed after them her wand out. Of course, she'd go and save her sister but she couldn't help but be surprised by how quickly Wood had just decided to put himself in danger.

The four walked quietly down the halls their wands drawn making their way to the smell that they assumed was coming from the troll. 'This is kind of exciting,' she whispered to Oliver.

'Got a bit of Gryffindor in there do you lass?' Wood smirked at the girl. She laughed softly and carried on,

'We need a plan,'

'That's your area,' he replied matter of factly peering into a corridor before ushering the others in.

'What?' she asked in a hushed voice,

'I saw you back there you were brilliant,' he told her,

She couldn't help but blush, this was definitely not the time, 'thank you,' she smiled at him, 'I do quite like being in charge,'

'It's 'cause you're so bossy,' he replied cheekily making her laugh and hit him gently.

There bonding was cut short by Ron, 'uhh guys I think he's in there,' he pointed at the toilet,

'look it in,' Harry whispered which Ron jumped to do, they were however met with a blood-curdling scream,

'You dipshits,' Oliver screamed, 'they're in there.'

The group rushed in, but a low mummer made Melody freeze,

'Melly,' a voice whispered, 'Melody,'

Melody span around trying to see where the voice was coming from, 'Oh my god,' Oliver shouted once again running over to a dark corner casting Lumos, the sight she was greeted with made Melody scream. Eleanor was collapsed on the floor the stone wall had crumbled and a particularly large section of the wall had landed on her leg and by the looks of things crushed it.

Melody froze, her blood went cold and she couldn't move, her brain went blank she needed to act, and she needed to act now. She was good under pressure; this is where she thrived, but she couldn't move.

Eleanor's scream bought the girl back to life, she leapt into action and ran over to where Oliver was trying to push the rock from her leg.

'Move,' the girl commanded, she levitated the rock and placed it next to Ollie who was now poking her leg causing the little girl to scream.

'She can feel it that's a good sign,' Oliver told her comfortingly he moved forward to Eleanor's head, 'Ellie lass I'm going to try to pick you up okay, it might hurt.' His tone was soft and gentle and he stroked the girl's hair.

Picking her up without moving her leg was a difficult job they were trying to work out how best to deal with the situation when a rumble shook through the hall and another girl screamed.

'Melody, go deal with them I'll take your sister to the hospital,'

'I can't,' Mel had frozen once again how was she meant to take on a troll.

'Fawley,' Wood spoke his tone harsh, 'Yes you can, they need you not me, be smart, make a plan, protect them.' She shook her head nervously causing him to reach for her hand. 'Mel be brave,'

She took a deep breath and nodded running into the bathroom.

The sight that met her was terrifying Ron Weasley was levitating the troll's bat and Harry was on top of his shoulders, Hermione was cowering under a sink. The bat made contact with the troll's head and he fell as if in slow motion, Melody came to life, levitating Harry from his shoulders and placing him gently, with a flick of her wand the pushed the troll away from him causing him to fall into the toilets instead of squishing them. His head made contact with the basins and he looked around dumbfounded.

'Bombarda' Melody bellowed at the ceiling causing a mountain of debris to land on the troll hindering him unconscious.

'Bloody hell,' Ron muttered,

'Yeah, bloody hell indeed,' Melody agreed turning to fuss over the first years when McGonagall walked into the room her stern glare making the girls blood run cold.

Before Melody had a chance to speak Hermione gave a rather vague and slightly untrue explanation.

'My sister, Wood was taking her to the hospital wing, can I?'

'Of course,' McGonagall spoke quickly, 'go, my dear.'

Melody ran through the entire castle panting but the time she had arrived at the hospital wing. Madame Pomfrey greeted her sympathetically taking her to her sister bed where Oliver was still sat next to her holding her hand.

'Hey,' he greeted quietly, 'sorry I'll go it's-'

'no,' Melody interrupted him, 'stay, please.'

He pulled a chair next to him and she sat down next to him taking her hand. They sat quietly for a few moments until the tears she was fighting started to spill. She sat there holding her sister's hand tears streaming down her face at the sight of her sister. If Oliver noticed he didn't show it they sat there in silence which she was thankful for until a sob racked her body, without saying a word he pulled her into him.

'Hey' he said comfortingly, 'it's okay,'

'I'm sorry,' she stuttered trying to move away from him.

'Don't be silly lass,' he whispered into her earpulling her even closer too his chest and holding her there as she cried andcried, he whispered comforting thoughts until she started to quiet down. 'I'mso proud of you,' he whispered, 'you did amazingly, I was trying to roll thatboulder,' he laughed, 'at least you remembered you were a witch,' she murmuredin reply, her breathing slowing down as she gave into the fight and fell asleepin her arch-enemies' arms.
