This chapters 4000+ words I'm really sorry I got carried away lmao.

Now that she had made up with her friends again all she could really think about was two things, the chat she needed to have with Oliver and the Hufflepuff vs Slytherin quidditch match. The day was finally upon her, a match she wasn't feeling the most confident about although she'd never admit that to her teammates.

Melody had been training hard coaxing out the ferocious badger side of her team players and it was slowly starting to show, very, very slowly. Turning her super sweet into ruthless quidditch killers wasn't the easiest of tasks. This was excluding Heidi, Heidi Macavoy had definitely found her inner badger, the girl was just as desperate to win as Melody.

The two girls and Cedric found themselves at the Hufflepuff table eating silently on the rather miserable Saturday.

'Where are the others?' Heidi snapped, spilling some of her cereal.

'Chill Macavoy,' Cedric told her stroking her arm comfortingly, 'They've got half an hour until we told them to be here,'

'Yeah, we're just overachievers,' Melody joked trying to lighten the mood, which was meant with mumbles the three being lost in their thoughts and breakfasts. The Great Hall was still empty it only being 7 am on a weekend. The door swung open and Oliver Wood walked in making brief eye contact with Melody before sitting down on his basically empty table.

'Right,' Melody announced, more to herself than any of the others, 'let's go sort this out,' she continued hyping herself up.

'You've got this Mel,' Cedric told her before falling back into a stressed silence.

Nodding to herself she walked over to the Gryffindor table a smile no her face as she took a deep breath, 'Hey.'

'Hey,'

'Can we talk?' she asked her smile faltering,

He nodded and smiled at her slightly as she sat down next to him. 'How you are feeling about the match?' he prompted gently after a few awkward moments had passed.

'Oh yeah, well, we'll give it our best shot,' she mumbled causing the boy to arch his eyebrow at her.

'That doesn't sound like you Melody?' he questioned,

'Oh,' she laughed hollowly, 'I mean we're gonna crush them obviously,' faking her confidence.

'Melody, what did you come here to talk about?'

'I wanted to apologise,' she spurted out her words turning into one. 'Sorry,' she muttered shaking her head and trying to compose herself, 'I'm just not feeling the best about this match,' she admitted.

'Right,' Oliver said turning to face her properly, 'I'll take a rain check on the apology so forget about that for now, talk to me about quidditch.'

She looked at him incredulously, causing him to continue, 'as a friend, not your biggest quidditch rival,' he finished with a smirk causing her to relax slightly and smile.

'I really hate playing against the Slytherins,' she admitted causing him to nod understandingly, 'they're cheats and bullies so half of my team are scared of the fucking players,' she grumbled laying her head on the table.

Oliver chuckled at the girl and started to rub circles on her back as she laid there defeated, 'everyone knows they play dirty, you've just got to hope they'll get caught. Remember that game when the Holly Harpies one purely from penalties in 76',' She smiled from underneath her blanket of hair and mumbled yeah.
